BEAUTY AND PATHOS IN LIFE.

In the life of Neomi Iladley, whose funeral occurred this afternoon there
is a touching story of the life of a beautiful character most pathetically blighted. Miss Hadley, twenty-six 3 ears of age, was born and reared in Richmond. Many friends and acquaintances remember her as a girl of most amiable character with lofty ideals and purity of thought and purpose. She was generous and charitable, unselfishly devoted and an ardent lover of the beautiful. In her school work she was most energetic and ambitious, her purpose being to become a teacher in an affectionate desire to aid her mother to whom she was devotedly attached. When about to graduate with high honors from high school at the age of eighteen her nervous system gave way as the result of excessive ambition. From this sickness however she fully
recovered and went west entering
business college in Los Angeles, graduating there with highest honors.
fter this she ably held a government
position with her father in the Pima
Indian Agency in Arizona, but was again stricken with the nervous trouble from which she suffered to a de
gree which makes death a gracious release. Miss Iladley was baptized when eight years old by Dr. Hughes of the Presbyterian church and has conscientiously and beautifully exemplified the Christ life. "When all Is done say not my day Is o'er, And that thro' night I seek a dimmer shore,
Say rather that my morn has ju6t
begun.
I greet the dawn, and not the setting
sun. When all Is done."
