What members term "the most interesting session of the West Side Improvement association in its history" was held Friday night at the Baxter school in West Richmond. Mrs. M. F. Johnston delivered an address on the subject of "Civic Beauty" that was considered excellent. She spoke for a higher beauty in public and private life, and also dwelt at some length on the Riverside park proposition, whicn has been discussed in recent months. Mrs. Johnston said that no more beautiful park could be arranged in Richmond, and its after appearance would more than compensate the city for the expense of the improvement. She said all will wonder that there is any hesitation in making the park a realization. It is seldom a city has it

tion is directed to securing west side sewers. When work on these has been started, the park proposition may again be taken up with renewed interest. ! Friday night the association was favored wth the presence of the Garfield orchestra, which rendered six very excellent numbers. The work of the orchestra would reflect credit upon a rancn older organization. There are twelve youngsters in the body.
