The report Ls again current in the
city that it is only a question of aj short time before the local Home Tele- j phone company, one of the leading in- j dependent telephone companies in the j
state, is absorbed by the Bell Telephone company. Not very long ago it was reported about town that as soon as the Home company had established its automatic system the announcement would be made that the Home company had consolidated with the Bell interests. This report at that time was denied by the officials of both companies. The report originated by the unexpected action on the part of the Bell company in abandoning its plan to erect a telephone exchange building on North Tenth street. The Bell people, in denying the report, stated that if it was the intention of that, company to absorb the local independent company it would not go to the expense of re-establishing its overhead system. The second rumor of the absorption of the Home company by the Bell interests, just now going the rounds, originated from the action of the local Bell company in refusing to place any new phones. It is a fact that several people, desiring to have Bell phones placed in their homes or places of business, have been turned down by th'j Bell people. .Manager Hut ton explains that this action in refusing to place new phones is because the local company lias no stock of telephones on hand and has been unable to secure new ones. The general public takes this statement with a pinch of salt as they find it hard to believe that the telephone trust is unable to supply phones to meet the local demand. Rumor has it that the Bell company will soon take over the Home automatic system ami that the refusal to place Bell phones ibecause of the fact that the overhead system of this company will be aban
doned when the Bell interests secures control of the Home company. The outcome of the local telephone situation will bo watched with the keenest interest by the citizens of Ricjimond. "Up to date there has been no merger of the Home and Bell interests in this city, and I do not think there will be a merger." states President A. C. Lindemuth, of the Home Telephone company.
A Most Dangerous Disease, Which Causes Serious Results. Unless Properly Treated. Catarrh of the Stomach Is very common and is known as one of the most obstinate diseases, which, when neglected or improperly treated with cheap patent medicines, tonics, drugs, pills, and other secret quack remedies results in a broken down constitution and often consumption and death. Catarrh of the Stomach, like every other disease of the stomach except cancer is the result of poor digestion. The digestive organs have become weak, there is a lack of gastric juice, your food is only half digested, iind as a result you become affected with loss of appetite, pressure and fullness after eating, heartburn, vomiting, wjiterbrash, tenderness at pit of stomach, slimy tongue, bad taste in the
mouth, constipation, pain in limbs and face, sleeplessness, nausea, belching of gas, diarrhoea, sick headaches, dizziness, mental depression, nervous weakness, and many other common symptoms. If your stomach cannot digest the food you eat, then the stomach needs a rest, as that is the only way you can get rid of your catarrh, but in the meantime your body needs plenty of nourishment, because you must live and in order to live you must eat, and if you must eat, your food must be properly digested, and if your stom
ach is too weak to do the work, then you must get a substitute that will do the work. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are the only known substitute that will digest your food as well as any healthy stomach. They contain vegetable and fruit essences, aseptic pepsin (gov. test), golden seal and diastase, the very elements necessary to digest all foods. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are not a secret remedy and for that very reason thousands of physicians all over the United States recommend them to their patients for catarrh of the stom ach, dyspepsia of all kinds, and other stomach troubles. Experiments and tests have proven that one grain of the active principle contained in these tablets will digest o.OOO grains of food. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are in the form of pleasant tasting tablets or lozenges and are sold in large fiftycent boxes at all drug stores. Send us your name and address and we will send you a free sample package. The relief you will get from this t.iui nrkaire- alone will convince you
of the merits of Stuart's Dyspepsia

BARTHOLOMEW CO. CASE.
Newcastle. Ind., Nov. 1 Owing to the policy adopted to admit to the state epileptic village only patients
who are able to perform some work at the village and are not violent. Superintendent Van Nuys has declined to accept a patient from Bartholomew County. The application was received from County Clerk Godfrey for the admission of John H. Hockaten. The admission of the patient was refused on account of the fact that he was violent, with homicidal and suicidal tendencies. At the present time Superintendent Van Nuys is using great care in admitting patients. As yet the village is not prepared to receive violent patients, but will be in the course of six months. The Bartholomew County authorities wvre apprised of the refusal to admit their patient.
