Morganatic Marriages. The term morganatic as applied to marriages found its origin In an ancient custom. In olden times the bridegroom on the day after his marriage gave his bride a morning gift (morganabe). In the case of a nobleman who wedded a wife beneath his station this gift constituted the -wife's portion or endowment. It was from this gift that the name morganatic came to be applied to marriages.

IT AFFECTS HIM GREATLY.
BELIEVES THAT IGNOMINITY HAS BEEN THRUST UPON HIM IN CONNECTION WITH WRECK CASE. t
Chicago. Oct. .'!. Bowed in gri ;f, with tears trickling down liis checks, and almost crushed, Judge Peter Grosscup received the news of his indictment and the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest on the charge of manslaughter and criminal negligence at Charleston, 111., in connection with the trolley wreck near that city last August in which eighteen lives were lost. The first information came to the eminent jurist just after the noon recess of the United States circuit court of appeals. Ife was in his chambers at the time. and. although he had been forewarned of the probable action of the grand jury, he was com
pletely stunned. Regaining his composure the federal jurist, with a sigh of weariness and still showing signs of the shock that he had received, said: "Of course this hurts. To say that. I do not care would be untrue. Like any right-minded man. I do care. My friends. I am sure, know that I have a. tender heart for human life and suffering and a desire to deal justly with all men. "In thirty years of a busy life I have never been sued even in a civil action, least of all have such ignominy thrust on me as has been done in this case. Beyond this there is nothing that can now be profitably said. That the accident at Charleston was due to no defect in construction or machinery, but solely to a human error in carrying out orders, and that my sole connection with the accident is in the fact that I happened to be a director of the company at the time it occurred, is the only way one can look at it.'

90 Per Cent of All Diseases the Result of Undigested Putrefying Foods. Men of affairs, women of society and children with active hr:iins are too
! often sedentary in their habits, giving ! little time to exercise. To this evil is
aded that of high and irregular livas a result, the stomach cannot stand the demands made upon it. The abused and overtaxed stomach does not properly do the work of digestion, food taken in ferments and the poison permeates the whole system. The body loses in weight and becomes a prey for the attack of whatever disease it may encounter. Did it ever occur o you how busy that stomach of yours is. It only holds three pints, but in one year you fo"ce it to take in 2.400 pounds of material, digest it and prepare it for assimilation into the blood. No wonder it rebels when overworked. We crowd it with steaks and pastry, irritate its juices with spices and acids, and expect the stomach to do its work. It can't do it. Ail over the inner lave.- of the stomach are glands which secrete the juices necessary to digestion. The entrance of food into the strr.iach is the signal for these glands to do their work. The more the food, and the more indigestible, the greater the demand upon them and upon the muscles of the wall adjoining. Think of the tons of high-seasoned game, sweetmeats and appetizers crammede into this little four-ounc mill, and then wonder, it you will, why you are dizzy or nauseated or coasHpated. Don't blame your stomach or curse your fate that you should be born so unfortunate. Blame yourself ard apply the remedy. First, get a small package of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets, taking one after each meal and at bed time. They are not a medicine, but a digestive. Your stomach is worn out and needs help, not medicine. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tab-
jlets will do the work that the stomach
fails to do. There's enough power in one grain of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets to digest 3,0 grains of ordinary food, so you needn't fear that arything you eat will remain in your stomach undigested. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets will rout the poison because they remove the cause food fermentation. They are nature's own cure for dyspepsia. The host of troubles dyspepsia is father of
cannot be numbered, for a healthy
stomach is the source of all health. Seize your opportunity before worse conditions confront you. Send today for a free trial package of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets. KILLED FELLOW PRISONER.
Counersvllle, Ind., Oct. 30. The recent verdict of a court jury declaring Harry Robinson, who killed Austin Fox, while both were confined in the Fayette county jail, insane, has been corroborated by a lunacy commission. Robinson's mania is religion. He believes that he is an instrument of divine will and that his actions are under the guidance of the Master. He further says he has the power to perform miracle but that he alone can see the result of his power. Outside of religious matters his mind is fairly clear. He will be taken to the Easthaven hospital at Richmond for treatment.

IT'S YOUR KIDNEYS.
Don't Mistake the Cause of Your Troubles. A Richmond Citizen Shows how to Cure Them. Many people never suspect their kidneys. If suffering from a lame, tveak or aching back they think that it is only a muscular weakness: when urinary trouble sets in they think it will soon correct itself. And so it is with all the other symptoms of kidney disorders. That is just w-here the danger lies. You must cure these troubles or they may lead to diabetes or Bright 's disease. The best remedy to use is Doan's Kidney Pills. It cures all ills which are caused by weak or diseased kidneys. Richmond people testify to permanent cures. Enoch Cromer, living at 221 North 19th St., Richmond, Ind., says: "Ra;roading is said to be hard on the kidneys and the continued jar and jolt of riding on trains got me into a bad condition. My kidneys became weak and there was inflammation of the bladder. Many nights there would b three or four passages of the secretions before I could get to sleep ai:d this loss of rest made me weak, depressed and in no condition for work. Frequently I felt faint and dizzv sensations and a general feeling of iassitude and weakness. Mr. Hiatt of the Hiatt Drug Co.. advised me to try Doaa's Kidney Pills. I did so with good results. The backache was relieved and the kidney action became regular." For sale by all dealers Price 50 cens. Foster-Milburn Co.. Buffril-). XeT York, sole agents for the United Sta'es. WILD GEESE SKIDOO; WIHTEUER! CLOSE Wise Heads Say Their Flight Is Sure Sign.
MANY PASS OVER RICHMOND
Wild geese in hundreds, winging their way southward, passed over Richmond Tuesday night. People who happened to be on the streets between nine and ten o'clock were apprised of the approach of the fowls by the "honk" of the leaders, and the dismal response of those who followed closely after. At one time Mam street was filled with the wierd .aoise from the hundreds of throats -nd the flapping of wings. Many of the birds, when they came in ttt strong rays of the electric lights became confused and fluttered aimlesslyabout. Many of them settled alon?; the Whitewater till daybreak, when they again took wing southward. Old weather prophets of the city make the assertion that the flight of geese indicates a speedy aprroach of winter.

The prisoner declined to give it, and the agent r.t once handed him over to the gendarmes. Next day the man was guillotined. Another day an agent summoned a prisoner of fifty, but the man did not answer to his name, and a lad of seventeen who was playing at ball was seized, taken to the couciergerie and put to death.
