Rushville, Ind., Sept. 24. The campaign In Rush county was formally opened in this city last night, when the voters of this and other counties met at the court house and organized what will be known as the Watson club. The court house assembly room was crowded with men, made up of both political parties, and several speeches were made by prominent men, who
were of one accord in naming Watson for the next governor of Indiana. The
meeting was presided over by A.
Gary, formerly of Indianapolis. The
principal speaker of the evening was

ments were complete for the annual
meeting of the county commissioners
of the state, which Began in the criminal court room this morning. In addition to the regular sessions, arrangements have been made by John Mc
Gregor, president of the organization,
and his assistants for the entertain
ment of the commissioners in royal
style.
At 1 o'clock this afternoon the com
missioners had lunch on the new Emrlchville bridge, which has just been
completed, and is one of the most beautiful bridges in the state. This
evening they and their friends will be
entertained at the Cfayety theater, a boxing contest following the regular performance. The meeting will close Wednesday evening with a banquet at the Grand hotel. The program for the business ses

Copies of the new legislative manual
issued by Demarchus C. Brown, state
librarian, have been received from the
printer. The book was authorized at
the last session of the general assem
biy and an appropriation was made for the worK of compiling and printing the material. The book contains 430
pages and is nicely bound in green iloth. It contains biographies and portraits of the members of the general assembly, session of 1907, the constitution of
'ndiana and information pertaining to he constitutional conventions held at Corydon in 1816 and in Indianapolis in 1S.18, together with lists of the members of those conventions. It contains also a list of all county officers elected throughout Indiana at the last election and a list of the county superintendent$ elected in June, 1907. An excellent likeness of Governor Hanly and a splendid picture of the state house are
found in the front of the book, the lat
ter forming the frontispiece. Lists of
members in all sessions of the Indiana
general assembly are found in the book
as well as the state's official register
from the territorial organization down
to the present time. The platforms of
all the political parties in the state are given space, as well as information pertaining to Indiana's representatives and senators in congress. The rules and regulations of the state senate and house of representatives, information pertaining to the pay of state officials and the maintenance of state institutions, both" penal and benevolent, are given also. In' addition, to all this Information the book gives a list of all the state officials, deputies, clerks boards and commissions that have ever served the
state, together with a list of all the township trustees in the state at the present time. The official votes of all elections and extracts from the state treasurer's report for the fiscal year ending Oct. 31, 1906, are given also. The book is complete in every detail. The biographies are written In a most interesting way, and the book is in every way a compliment to its author, Mr. Brown, who has spent much time in the compilation and arrangement of its pages. Mr. Brown hopes to obtain an appropriation from the next, general assembly that will enable him to
issue a more complete book even than
this one. -
