WILL OPEN MONDAY The Great Parker Shows Will Be a Feature of This Great Gala Week. HAS THREE BIG FEATURES. THEY ARE THE SUNFLOWER BELLES, THE TRAINED WILD ANIMAL SHOW AND SUPERBA LATTER A BEAUTIFUL THING. The Great Parker shows, which will open here on Monday are made up of a number of attractions, fourteen in all, of the highest possible class and character. There are three bis feature shows, the Sunflower Belles, the trained wild animal show and Buperba. The other shows are smaller only in the time they consume. One of the feature shows, Superba, i3 perhaps, the most popular on the grounds. It is an electrical dancing end illusion show and one of the most "beautiful novelties ever seen beneath canvas. Three beautiful young women take part In Superba, Miss Etta Louise JUake, Miss Cora Mae Benson and Miss Jule Kieth Dene. Miss Blake is the feature in her superb dances and the wonderful illusion of Pygmalion and Galatea. The show opens with the dance of the rainbow in which Miss Blake and Miss Benson are seen in magnificent fowns containing each over a hundred and fifty yards of the finest China silk. The electric effects on the gowDS of the dances are beautiful in the extreme. The dance of the rainlow Is followed by Miss Blake's famous gold dance in which she wears The

The accompans-ing picture shows the Eagles' prize drill team, which is instrumental in bringing the Great Parker Shows to Richmond. It may not be commonly known, but the lagles' team was the first drill team in Richmond, and has taken prizes wherever it has competed. The object f the team in holding a carnival this year is to raise sufficient funds to enable it to go to Norfolk, Va., to atterd the Eagles- convention, and while there it expects to carry off the first prize as the best drilled team in tre United States. Too much praise cannot be given this body of men for securing the world's greatest and cleanest amusement enterprise, as this city has had some Inferior carnivals in the last few years and it is a relief to know that it is getting the best at last. The ream and local Eagles will meet at their home -Monday night and form in line and march to Druids' hall, when the Druids will join them and march to Red Men's Hall, where that body will also drop into line, and from there the parade will march east to the carnival grounds, whe.e all fraternal men who belong to the above bodies and have been in line of march will be admitted free through the gates. The great Parker shows band of thirty-three pieces will head the psrade, while the ten thousand dollar steam callope will bring up the rear. All shows will be ready at 7 p. m. Monday as they are expected to arrive over the Pennsylvania railroad about 5 o'clock this afternoon with a special train of thirty-two oars. fc'.Jti'fc.l f

ROBBERSSHOWN OP This Will Be an Exciting and Engaging Scene With Buffalo Bill. IS PUT ON IN DETAIL A PRACTICAL ENGINEER DRAW ING A PRACTICAL TRAIN, FORMS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN THE HOLDUP. An ovriHnir and ensrasins: scene to be Dresented here with Buffalo Bill Wild West, August SO, will be the great train holdun in which the methods em nloyed by train robbers will be Illus trated in minute detail. Furtnermore the details of bandit hunting will fullv shown. Ever since the Union Pacific stretched its tracks westwa to connect with the shores of the Pa cific ocean, train robberies have been rtipnare to life ad Droperty. The nroblem of effectually coping with these desperadoes had long been un solved, until the Union Pacific estab lished a posse of bandit hunters, equip ped with a special car, and ready call to be transported to a scene of depredation. After a few experiences with the bandit hunters, train-robbing became so hazardous that the lawless westerner finally almost entirely aban doned the occupation. Thus as a passing scene, typical of the development of the West, Buffalo run nresents a realistic train noia-u A Dractical engine, drawing a practical train, forms the important factor in the hold-up. The methods of the train robber are realistically depicted and as a climax to the scene the bandit hunters of the Union Pacific appear to visit retribution upon the desperadoes The great bank of Newfoundland is 600 miles lone by 120 miles broad. It has been formed principally by earth and bowlders dropped by the immense icebergs, which constantly sail down from the frozen north, and It is the greatest natural flsh farm in the world.
