Iusurance Companies Indoree Dodd & Struthers PURE COPPER CABLE to their patrons as a preventative of lightning and protection to buildings and life. Many of them give a reduction olJZO to 25 per cent-in rates to those whose buildings are rodded with D. & S. pure Copper Cable. The National Association of Co-operative Mutual Insurance Companies of the United States unanimously adopted resolutions endorsing D. & S. pure copper cable lightning rods. Is the opinion of these concerns worth I anything to you? We are NOT in any FAKE ligntmiig rod business. Oh, No! That's a thing of the past. We couldn't afford it. Ours is purely a scientific proposition, based on the laws of nature, easily demonstrated, readily understood. Lightning is the discharge or explosion of electricity in the air coming in contact wltK the electricity from the earth. If this discharge can be prevented, we prevent lightning and all its damages. We are giving scientific demonstrations at our store similar to the demonstrations given at the World's Fair, which shows how lightning or the discharge of electricity can be prevented. Electricity Is under human control. .We get light and power from it at will. Does it not look reasonable that the electricity from the earth should be under human control? Prof. West Dodd has perfected the appliance for the control of electricity in the air which idea Ben Franklin originated. He is the inventor of the "Thunderstorm" (which machine we have at the store) which shows that any building properly rodded with D. & S. pure copper cable will never be struck by lightning. Dodd & Struthers give a bond that If ever their rods prove ineffective they refund the amount paid.. They have a million dollars to back up this guarantee.

Reminiscences of Nathan and Esther Frame, is the title of a book just published by these noted Quaker evangelists. The book is not a journal. It is a book of notes, accounts, descriptions, travels, and observations; sketches of their life work, places they have visited, accounts of their great and successful revival meetings: comments of the public press where they have labored, the whole woven together in beautifully simple and attractive style. The commission which Is erecting a monument to the late Gen. Benjamin Harrison in University square, opposite the United States Postoffice building at Indianapolis, is called upon to select an inscription for the base of the statue. John B. Elam, chairman of the commission, ha3 received a letter from Charles Neihaus, the New York artist who designed the monument, asking the commission to signify what wording is desired on the base. It was suggested that "Benjamin Harrison Statesman and Soldier," would be suitable. "Benjamin Harrison Twenty-third Presi

some assistance from the government

The state board of tax commissioners is having a great deal of difficulty In arriving at an equalization of real estate values in the country that is affected by this lack of drainage. "The board finds that the northern part of the state is jeopardized because of the fact that there is no water outlet. The old state ditches there have been filled by washes. The board is of the opinion that the government should assist in opening the Kankakee river at Momence so that the northern part of the state may be properly drained. There is no reason why the Government can not make an appropriation of at least $ltO0O,iO for this purpose. "The government has assisted other states In this way and there is no rea
