Probably the greatest feature of the

township trustees picnic which was

held Wednesday at Glen Miller park, was the horseshoe tournament. Al

bert Anderson, Will Cheeseman, Will

Trusler and A. B. Parks proved them

selves the champion twirlers of the day, although the latter, two went

down in ignominious defeat before the

lurmer. tuanes .rouer is good au

thority for the statement that Truss-

ler ate too many strawberries for him to cut many'capers and for this reas

on could-not 'play the game he did during the earlier part of the day.

The picnic was greatly enjoyed.

Several of the trustees were not able to be present, among, them being Lem. Anderson of New Garden township, E.

C. Caldwell, of Washington township, Florence Boyd of Clay township,

Frank Reynolds of Green township, and Albert Chamness of Dalton town

ship.

Those who were present with their families were Will Trusler of Jackson township, Will Cheeseman of Center township. Will Robbins of Abington township, A. B. Parks of Boston townShip, Albert Anderson of Franklin township, John Manning of Perry township, County Clerk Penny, Coun

ty Superintendent Charles Jordan,

Truant Officer George : .Bishop, Trustee Charles Potter of Wayne Township, and H. J. Hanes, county auditor. It was the concensus of opinion that the picnics should be continued each year and the next one probably will be held in Glen Miller about the same time next year.

MANY CASES UP IN COURTJF THE CITY

William Ross, Charged With

Drawing a Weapon.

Henry Reeg was fined $50 and costs

and given a sentence of 120 days in

the county jail in the city court for a vicious assault committed several

days ago on Henry Tieman, who is

59 years of age. Prosecutor Jessnn

stated that Attorney R. L. Study for

the defendant wished to enter a plea

of not guilty and have the court make

finding of guilty on a statement of

the facts in the case by the prosecu

tor.

Mr. Jessup told, how there had fceen

much domestic strife in the Reeg

family, especially between the mother

and father. The prosecutor also stat

ed that Reeg, Sr., and the defendant

had been on bad terms for three weeks past and that there had been threats

made between them. The prosecutor

stated that Reeg, Sr., told his troubles

to Mr. and Mrs. Tieman, who live next

door, and that Henry Reeg was of the

opinion that Tieman had talked too much and had said some insulting

things about his mother. Mr. Jessup

stated that he did not care to explain

what the family troubles were in open

court, but that he did not think Mrs

Reeg was in anyway to be blamed for

this domestic breech. He concluded

by stating bow Reeg had assaulted

Tieman. The prosecutor recommend

ed a fine of $25 and ninety days imprisonment. Judge Conrerse, however, was not

satisfied by just a statement of facts and he ordered that the witnesses in the case testify. On a motion of the prosecutor the court room was clear, ed. Dr. Markley was the last witness to testify and he stated that Tieman had been most severely injured by Reeg's assault. He said that Tieman's left eye ball had been cut, the nose fractured at the bridge and two ribs in the breast broken. These ribs,' he stated, pressed in on the right, iung. ,

He said that Tieman would not fully

recover from the effects of the assault

for several weeks.

TRAKOWSKI S INSANITY WAS CLEARLY SHOWN Verdict in Case Filed by Coroner Bramkamp.

WIFE'S FIERCE STRUGGLE.

Coroner Bramkamp has filed his

statement concerning the suicide of August Trakowski, which took place

Wednesday. The testimony of the

witnesses show beyond a doubt that Trakowski was insane at the time of his death. Mrs. Trakowski, in, her

testimony states that she saved her

self from being shot only by the most

violent struggle, in which she was assisted by her younger children. - In

the testimony it is also stated that Officer Yingling refused, to search In the

Beallview addition for the body because "the grass was too wet to hunt!

him and that he would have one of the officers on the day force search for

him."
