Proof of the Value of Thf Important Medicinal Agent. FOR WOMEN. Great Physicians Recommend It The Cure of Woman's His. for The National Standard Dispensary is a medical work of nearlj- two thousand pages, acknowledged as standard authority by the medical profession everywhere. It was edited by such world-famed physicians as Hobart Amory Hare, M. D., professor of therapeutics and materia medica in the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, Henry II. Busby, M. D., of Columbia University, New York, and others of equal prominence. This great medical authority describes the action and use of the best medicines recognized in the pharmacopeias cf the United States, Great Britain and Germany, with numerous reference to others. In discussing the properties of Life Root, this best of authorities explains the wonderful action of this medicine on the delicate menstrual organism of women. Tha remedy favors an increased discharge when the menses are too scanty and i painful, and regulates the menstrual i function when irregular or too pro- j i fuse. Notice that the effect is to regulate and restore normal functions ; of these organs, no matter whether I the trouble be suppressed menstruaj tion, or its opposite, profuse. ' This medicinal plant, Life Root, with : others of equal value, are found in j Zoa-Phora. . Your druggist will supply you with this remedy, already pre-' pared, compounded in just the right ' proportions, and put up in sealed, ; sterilized, dollar bottles. Ask him for Zoa-Phora no further explanation j jwill be needed. Each package con-! tains complete and explicit directions ' for using the medicine, also a copy of! : "Dr. Pengelly's Advice to Women," a . little book of great value, explaining I about the various forms of womanly) weakness and disease and the proper treatment tor tneir cure. If you desire more information about Zoa-Phora, the Zoa-Phora Com pany, Kalamazoo, Mich., will cheerful ly answer all inquiries. No higher au thority regarding the value and use of a medicine is known than that above mentioned. In addition, and to prove conclusively to the most skeptical, the value of Zoa-Phora, we have the personal experience of Dr. Pengelly, the formulator of Zoa-Phora, who used this prescription constantly in his pri vate practice for many years in treat ing the various diseases and ailments to which the delicate organism of woman is singularly subject. INK THAT NEVER IjRIES. Care Used In Handling Fine Etchings and Engravings. "One of the first things we have to impress upon newcomers in this business," remarked a dealer in fine prints, "is to take the utmost care in handling prints for the simple reason that the ink used in printing engravings and etchings practically never dries. Of all the men whose works in this line we handle it can be safely said that on the prints of only two of them Rembrandt and Durer has the ink really dried. And you know it is a long time since they were alive. It has been our frequent experience to have prints fully 200 years old show signs that the ink still had some moisture in it, as we have learned to our cost in seeing them rubbed. ' "An expert, whether he be a professional or amateur collector, can tell at a glance that a print has had another one pulled across it, for to his accustomed eyes the telltale marks of the ink having been drawn across a blank place on the paper are as clear as daylight. That is why we keep all of our prints in boxes that just fit them so that they must be lifted out squarely with no chance of their being dragged across the one below. It seems like a trifle. But it is just such trifles tht make or mar the sale of a really fine print worth thousands of dollars." New York Press. A CORDIAL NATURE. If It Is Not Yours, Do Your Best to Acquire It. The cultivation of cordiality and popularity early in life will have a great deal to do with one's advancement, comfort and happiness. It is a mortifying thing to have a kindly feeling In the depths of one's heart and yet not be able to express it to repel people when one has just the opposite feeling toward them. To be incased in an icy exterior with a really warm heart is a most unfortunate thing. Some people have a repelling expression in their faces and manner which is a constant embarrassment to them, but they do not seem able to overcome it. This is largely due to a lack of early training or to the fact that sometimes these people have been reared in the country, away from the great centers of civilization, where they do not have the advantages of social intercourse, and in consequence become cold and appear unsympathetic when they are really the opposite. It is a very difficult thing to overcome these handicaps, but the cultivation of good will, of a helpful spirit and kindly feeling toward everybody will go far to open up the hard exterior so that the soul can express itself. H CUBA. If You Are Tmpted toTry It, Resist tnIrtciinatiin. If you should cJrWW to visit Cuba, olSciplly or other je, anfl' should desire to go in sea-bathing remember the advice df the EngitsbHian and don't. For sea bathi&g in Cuba, like the ways of the heathen Chinee, Is peculiar. The natives probably go through it as a reiJyiotw- pnance, as, considered in the light of a diversion, it is simply ghastly. Say you reside in Havana, and, attracted by the beautiful tints of the tropic- sea, you desire its intimate saline refreshment. Yon will notice, as you drive along the Malecon. immediately below that fine sea wall some curious masonry construction like the ruins of cells, over which the waves dash and disport themselves. These are, in fact, the remains of former baths that before the Gringo came were used by the natives. You will further notice that there prevail along the Malecon drive odors not at all suggestive of Araby the Blest, and when you find upon closer' investigation that the odors are not wholly removed from the fact that all the sewers of the city seem to empty into the sea just below the wall you acknowledge that this fine Malecon promenade has its draw backs. The banos. or baths, are out at Ve dado, a suburb of Havana, and you are likely to enjoy the drive along by the coast some six miles. The fringes of Havana, as you leave the city proper, are shabby enough, but there's the sea to gladden .the eyes, and you anticipate sporting in those bright blue waters with relish. The first intimation you have of the baths is the apparition of a frame structure that looks like a grand stand You enter this and purchase your ticket. Then the misery begins. After the usual preliminary process, similar to that prevalent in a watering place in the United States, you go forth, ex pecting to come upon a sandy beach Instead, you tread painfully upon sharp rock, and the sight of the place where you are expected to bathe gives you the horrors. It is a cell cut in the rock, with an opening to the sea, through which the water swishes and regurgitates with the advancing and retreating waves This cell, if you have nerve enough, you descend into by means of stops, taking care not to slip, for the reck is like soap owing to the action of the sen weed. The bottom of the cell is formed of the rough rock, while sharp flints are plentifully strewn about. Your feet are soon lacerated and bleeding. Suddenly you feel something nip your leg like a pair of powerful tweezers. You put your hand to the afflicted part and find that it is a crab that has laid hold of you. You glance about in hopeless desperation and see that other crabs are coming forth, with laudable politeness, to welcome you to this aquatic bower of blisj. "What in thunder," you think, "is the idea In walling you up In this fashion? Is it a survival of Spanish cruelty?" Then. 89 your gnze wanders out to sea, you see a long grayish black body shoot swiftly past. The explanation of the walling in part of the transaction is explained by that long, swiftly moving body, for this coast Is Infested by man eating sharks, and bathing without the precaution of a wall In front of you, with an opening in "it just large enough to fill the cell with water, would be likely to prove more gratifying to some hungry shark than to you. You have paid $2, Spanish money, for this delightful experience, but then you can enjoy it just as long as you please. Washington Post. GOOD NEWS OF A GREAT THING. That Has Become the Talk of Thousands. There Is a death at the end of every life, but as we travel on toward the grave we hope to be blessed with good health, and when we have a friend who has suffered for years with some painful malady, it is good news, in deed, when we are told of that friend's complete recovery, and, when we hear of the remerdy that made the cure, we are bound to have confidence in it This is why Root Juice is so well spo ken of all over the country. Mr. Sam Anderson, a -well known farmer, living near Gas City, Ind., said "I'll tell you Root Juice i9 great med icine. I suffered for years with rheu matism and stiff joints, and when awoke in the mornings I could hardly raise myself from the bed. My feet and hands were sore, stiff and painful, more especially during damp and rainy weather. I had a great deal of trouble with my back. Root Juice cured one of my neighbors of a bad stomach trouble so I thought I would give it a trial although my trouble was entire ly different. I purchased a bottle of Root Juice and a 25c bottle of "Uze-it" Pain Oil. I rubbed my back and joints well with the oil and took Root Juice precisely as directed. I felt so much better after the first week that I bought six more bottles of the Juice, also some of the Liniment. In a few weeks every symptom of my trouble was gone. I now feel that the cure is permanent and am advising all my sick friends to try Root Juice." Root Juice has proved its wonderful merit to hundreds of Richmond people. For sale by A .G. Luken & Co.
