Cambridge City, June 1 The damage done to the engine at the factory of the Standard Manufacturing Co., by the blowing off of the cylinder head last Wednesday afternoon, is being repaired rapidly and work will probably be resumed Monday. Another Girl Ambulance Surgeon.
Jan. ir, 1JMTS, rr. Mary Merritt Crawford will take her place as interne and ambulance surgeon at Williamsburg hospital, Brooklyn. She is an A. B. of Cornell university and a graduate of the medical department of that institution. Every year a competitive examination for appointment as hospital Internes is held among medical students who are a!out to be graduated. Dr. Mary Crawford registered for the examination along with, thirty-four others, fill men. She passed with the highest average and won the appointment. It Is pleasant to know that she got it. Other young women should make a note of the fact that Dr. Crawford is a girl athlete. She plays basket ball and baseball nnd can row a shell with skill. Undoubtedly her fine health and development helped her In her studies, and her splendid physical condition helped her to get the appointment.
