HARRY ORCHARD, WHO ACCUSES HAYWOOD. The chief witness for the prosecution In the trial of William D. Haywood for the murder of ex-Governor Steunenberg of Idaho is Ilarry Orchard, who some time ago made a sworn confession to the effect that he killed the exgovernor at the instance of Haywood and other Western Federation of Miner' officials, who, he said, were to pay him for the deed. Orchard formerly was a miner. According to his own story, he has been engaged chiefly In assassinating men by firearms and dynamite of late" years. He hails originally from Detroit, Mich.
