Cherboug, France, May 21. William E. They entered a motor car and were driven directly to the Chateau Villegenis, which was occupied by Mrs. Corey prior to her marriage. During the entire voyage the Corey s remained in the seclusion of the captain's suite. The passengers aboard called the couple the "Hibberg prisonj ers." All their meals were served in J their dining room, four stewards being appointed to serve the couple at I meal time. The bride, who was indisj poed the first two days of the voyape, remained in the green boudoir. The procession of servants going to land from the suite never failed to in-! ! terest. the passengers. Methodist Ministers of the Richmond District Will Not Assemble So Often. AID FOR STATE HOSPITAL. THIS CAUSE WILL BE LAID BEFORE ALL THE CONGREGATIONS EPWORTH LEAGUES ARE RAISING $1,000. Methodist ministers of the Richmond district will not hold bi-monthly meetings as proposed by Presiding Elder Guild Monday before the district stewards meeting, but instead will hold at least four meetings each year, to be held at the time of the Epworth League convention, and the Ministerial institute to be held in Knightstown in October, the meeting of the preachers which will be held in March and at the regular meeting of the district stewards. The bi-nion- ; thly meetings would probably be held if there were better traction and railroad service in the district. As matters stand at present, it would be a loss of both time and money to attempt to get together so often. The committee ' which had charge of the assessments for various benevolences reported and its recommendations were approved. The ministers decided definitely to lay the matter of helping , the state Methodist hospital before their respective congregations and all Richmond members of the church will have an opportunity to help the cause within the next six weeks, the lime set for the special effort to aid the institution. The Epworth Leagues are now actively engaged in raising $1,000 to furnish the children's department. MRS. MORTON GUEST OF ANDERSON FRIENDS Widow of War Governor Is Highly Honored. BUND TIGERS HAVE BEEN ABOLISHED Very Few Remain Since the Passage of the Law by The Last Legislature. SHOWING IS REMARKABLE. STATE SUPT. HUMPHREYS OF THE ANTI-SALOON LEAGUE, SAYS REMONSTRANCE WORK IS BEING PUSHED. Indianapolis, Ind., May 21 That the Ganiard "blind tiger" law enacted by the recent legislature has driven practically all of the illicit liquor joints out of Indiana in the short space of two months, is claimed by U. G. Humphreys, superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League of the state. "Where we formerly had a hundred complaints about 'blind tigers' we now have one," said he. "This shows how effective the law is. I understand that here and there in the cities, druggists are breaking over the law, but in the rural communities the day of the 'blind tiger' has passed. We are not having trouble in enforcing the law in the rural communities, as most of the joints have voluntarily quit business." Mr. Humphreys says that the league is pushing its remonstrance campaign and that secret organizations are being effected now for the purpose of making several of the largest cities in Indiana go dry within the next year. Since the Moore law was passed all of the saloons have been driven out of 219 townships. ROCK ISLAND ROAD FINED rail REBATING Attorney R. A. Jackson Appears in Court. TOTAL ASSESSED $20,000.
