MARKETS
Richmond. CRANBERRIES A MEMORY THEY ARE NO LONGER ON THE LOCAL MARKET. Green Stuff is Selling Well, Weather Conditions Considered Markets are Normal. ' Cranberries are gone and when next Richmond people partake of them it will be nigh onto Thanksgiving time. Green stuff is selling well but each return of cold weather the sale drops off. There have been no new additions to the green stuff line in the past few days. All local markets are remaining about normal, there being no changes of great importance in " the general quotations. Although it is not definitely decided, it is thought that a play entitled "Liberty Corners," will be given the latter part of June by the members of the Richmond Christian Endeavor Union. There are seventeen characters in the play and the union is hesitating because of the magnitude of the production. It would take probably two hours to give it. The place has not been decided upon. Suit Filed on Claim. The suit of Frank Hetrick against the estate of Noah Hinrs on claim, has been filed in the circuit court.
BASEBALL PLAYED IH FOOTBALL WEATHER
Portland and Richmond Engaged in Battle. work on the bleachers. Indications were that a good sized crowd would be at Athletic park this afternoon to witness the first game between the fast Portland independent team and the locals. The weather is more suitable for a foot ball contest than a base ball game but the base ball fans . do not let such a littie thing . as the weather interfere with witnessing an exhibition of their favorite sport. Friday afternoon the locals will again give battle to the Jay county team. Friday will be ladies day and it is expected there will be a large delegation of fair fans to enjoy the hospitality of the management. Seats will be provided for every lady who attends. A gang of carpenters has been busy every day this week putting up the bleachers. It is expected that these stands will be completed by Saturday so that the big crowd which will attend the game with the Muncie team on Sunday will be better accommodated than the crowd that filled the lot last Sunday. As soon as the bleachers are completed work will be started on the big grandstand, which; will have a seating capacity of 1,500. This structure should be finished in two weeks' time. Horn and Jessup will be the battery for the locals Friday while Gray and Harmes will be in the points for the visitors. BaUB Results. NATIONAL LEAGUE STANDING.
