BULL MARKET WENT SAILINGAT CHICAGO Prices Jump Wonderfully on All Lines of Wheat.

PIT WAS A SEETHING MASS. Chicago, May 13. With September wheat selling at .$1, December at CG!i and $1, and July from 91 to 07, tha bull market in that cereal this morning went sailing. At the tap of the gong the wheat pit became a seething mass of humanity and the price changed with kladieoscopic rapidity. For a time the marker had more than his share of work, and could scarcely keep tab on the changes. Continued reports of a short crop and green bag damage came in to bolster the situation. Price advances were sensational. At 11 o'clock the market eased off some. The excitement in no way sub sided and the reaction was due on the natural cessation in buying. $6.85; pigs $6.85. WILL ASSIGN PLACES All Members Should Be at the Chorus Rehearsal Tonight. At tonight's rehearsal of the May Festival chorus, the assignment of seats to the chorus members will take place and Director Earhart is anxious that every member of the organization shall be present. In this connection it might be stated that the work of the festival chorus this year promises to be the best that it has ever done. LIQUOR LAW VIOLATION Such Is Alleged Against Gus Kroma. Gus Kroma was arrested on an affidavit charging him with giving liquor to a minor, Harry Patridge. His case will probably be given a hearing on Tuesday. It is claimed that Patridge became intoxicated on the beer furnished him by Kroma and that the lad boarded a moving freight train and nearly fell under the wheels. Eli Speed Up Again. Eli Speed, colored, commonly known as "Raspberry." appeared in the city court again on the old charge of appropriating tools owned by the P.. C. C. & St. L. railroad, which it is alleged Speed sold for junk. Speed refused to admit guilt, so tha case was continued until Tuesday. DON'T SPOIL YOUR CLOTHES. WILSOli RESIGNS AS ' PHYSICAL DIRECTOR Earlham's Athletic Coach to Return to Yale.

ARE MANY APPLICANTS. Walter Wilson, who has been athletic director at Earlham college for the past two years, has handed In his resignation to take effect at the end of the present school year. At least a dozen applicants are being considered to fill his place, but none has yet been selected. Wilson Is going to Yale where he will act as an lustructor ir. mathematics and as an assistant in tha gymnasium. Wilson was at Yale-one year before and at that time had charge of the freshman gymnasium class. President Kelly, in speaking of tha selection of Wilson's successor, said that the college will choose a man who will be supposed to give most of his time to athletics, but who will be fitted to be a member of the faculty. He said that it is not the intention of Earlham to win athletic victories any cost but it had come to a point where the college must maintain a standing in the field of sport WABASH VERY CHESTY Due to Victory Over Earlham And Rose. Crawfordsville, Ind.. May 13 Th Wabash college students are elated over the great showing of their track and field team made in the I. C. A. L. games against Earlham and Rose, Saturday, and are now looking forward to the big intercollegiate association meet to be held at Terre Hauto a week from next Saturday. A comparison Of the marks made in the various events with those registered by the contesting teams of other colleges in the State iu Saturday's meet shows the locals to a decided advantage. Another encouraging feature which shows that the "Little Giants" will be a prominent factor in capturing the big meet for the State title Is that tha team is well balanced. ham. New Paris, R. R.
