The play is one which holds the interest of the audience from the time the curtain rises on the first act until the happy ending in the third. The illustrated song3 by Frank Kelly, and the specialties by Frank Merrit and Ethel Desmond, together with ,the motion pictures, cause a continuous round of applause. This afternoon as usual a reception was held by the members of the company after the performance for the ladies and children in the audience. Next week the company will present two very strong bills with an entirely new bunch of specialties, and in addition several new and amusing

One of the games of the Indian boys at Haskell School. Lawrence, Kas.. is swimming under water. On the shore stands a little rlaked red man. Into his little mouth is thrust a handful of grass, then plunge, and away beneath the. surface. As he swims he blows lightly through the grass causing bubbles to rise to the surface, and by these his companions trace him and he who goes the longest distance is privileged to strike with a wet cloth the boy who goes the shortest. The Mystery Of the Nerves
Professional men, as well as laymen have been puzzled over the mysterie of the nervous system, but this much Is certain: that nerve force is created from pure, rich- blood, and. with the exception of accidental injuries, diseases of the nerves arise from a thin, watery condition of the blood. On this principle. Dr. A. W. Chase'i Nerve Pills were prepared, for this great restorative actually forms a certain amount of pure, rich blood every day. Not only is this treatment scientifically correct, but the enormous success which it has attained has proven it to be unequalled as a cure for all diseases resulting from thin, watery blood. When you cannot sleep well, suffer from nervous headaches and ladigestion, brain fag1, irritability, trembling ot twitchinr of the nerves, and feel downhearted or discouraged, turn to Dr. A. W. Chase's Nerve Pills as the most certain means of restoring vitality to the nervous system, and of avoiding: nervous prostration, paralysis or - some dreadful form of helplessness. 50 centt a box, 6 boxes for 12.60. at all dealers, or Dr. A. There are some facts about the Barnum & Bailey circus that, are .not generally known, but which can hardly fall to be of interest to the thousands who visit the big show when it exhibits here on May 11. The present season marks the fiftyfourth annual tour of the Barnum & Bailey Show. It is the only American
circus that has ever made a tour of
Europe, and its entire equipment, except railroad cars, which were built in England, has twice been transported across the Atlantic Among its other prosperous tours was a visit to Australia. The show represents an actual investment of $4,000,000'. Its daily expenses average $7,G00. Many small cities, which must be played in order to break the railroad jumps, represent an actual money loss owing to the in
sufficiency of the population; nevertheless the show is an assured moneymaker, and its annual profits run into the hundreds of thousands. The employes number nearly -1,100 men, women and children. They coma from all parts of the civilized world.
rwenty-six amerent languages are spoken in the dressing room, and among the performers are Roman Catholics, Greek Catholics, nearly all the Protestant sects, Buddists, Brahmins, followers of Confucius, Shintoists, Mohammedans, Fetish worshippers and followers of many other faiths. The actual circus company numbers about CC0 expert artists. These include riders, acrobats, aerialists, arenic specialists and performers of startling novelties, like, the ski-sailing, the
Auto-Bolide and somersault-turning
bicycle acts, that require a peculiar kind of daring skill and rare disregard
of danger and possible injury or
death.
