BOYS ARE FINED FOR VI 0 L ATIHG ORDINANCE Were Caught Riding Bicycles On a Sidewalk.
LAW WILL BE ENFORCED. Recollections of that seemingly almost extinct machine, the bicycle, were revived in the city court when two I boys, Clem Wickett and Will Winters, were arraigned before Judge Converse, charged with having vioated the provisions of ,the ordinance which prohibits the riding" of bicyces on the sidewaks of the city. City Attorney Study overcame his scruples against appearing in the city court, and prosecuted the two loads. He didn't take this action however until he had first inquired of Mr. Jessup whether there was not some state law covering the offense under which the prosecutor could appear against the boys. Officer Edwards testified that Wickett and Winters bad been caught riding on a sidewalk on Sheridan street. Chief Bailey stated that of late there had been numerous complaints against people riding wheels on the sidewalks of that section of the city and he had ordered the police to put a stop to it. Each boy .was fined $1 and costs Young Wickett's father appeared for him, but the Winters boy appeared in court and wept bitterly when the judge fined him. Here Is Relief for Women. Do You Want to Know What You Swallow ? There is a growing sentiment in this country in favor of medicines of knows composition. It is but natural that one should have some interest in the composition of that which he or she is expected to swallow, whether it be food, drink or medicine. Recognizing this growing disposition on the part of the iiubjic, and satisfied that the fullest publicity can only add to the well-earned reputation of his medicines. Dr. It. V. Pierce, of Buffalo. N. Y., has "taken time by the forelock," as it were, and is publishing broadcast "a list of all the ingredients entering into hi leading medicines, the "Golden Medical Discovery" the popular liver inviaoratcr, stomach tonic, blood prritier and heart regulator; also of his "Favorite Prescription" for weak, , over - worked, brokendown, nervou and invalid women. This bold and out-spoken movement on the part of Dr. Pierre, has. by show ing exactly- what his well-known "medicines are composed of. completely disarmed all harping crtic who have heretofore unjustly attacked them. A little pamphlet has been compiled, from the standard medical authorities of all the several schools of practice, showing the strongest endorsements by leading medical writers of the several ingredients which enter into Dr. Pierce's medicines.
