Although no definite action has been taken upon the matter, it is probable that the one hundred and forty families, residents of the west side and members of the St. Mary's Catholic congregation, will soon come to some definite decision in regard to the building of a new church in the western portion of the city. When the voting is completed the matter will be taken up with the bishop, and If he favors such a move, and the money for the building of a new church, parish house, school and
sisters' home, is forthcoming, It is very probable that the new home will be built. Congregation Very Large. St. Mary's congregation now numbers 1,600 people, and although the other members to the east of the river would regret the departure of those residing on the west side, It would give the present congregation greater room. The question as to location and other minor details have not even been considered, only the more important question, as to the advisability of establishing a new parish has received the thought of the interested parties. Whatever move is made, the development of the scheme will be watched with interest, as the new addition would be welcomed to the already large Richmond church community.

Engineers on the Traction Line from New Castle to Richmond complete Staking Out the Proposed Route Problem of Bridge.
The surveying corps on the traction line from New Castle to Richmond, arrived in this city yesterday afternoon coming down West Fifth street and
over Richmond avenue. The survey between New Castle and Richmond has now been completed, and it is said the work has been done very carefully. The line will run overland and the company, according to the statements of one of the engineers will now commence buying up the right of way from farmers. If the company persists in following the survey made yesterday, it certainly will meet with obstacles. The
Doran bridge is not strong enough to permit of traction cars running over it, while the commissioners will not
allow care of any other company than the I. & E. on the Main street bridge. The only alternative appears to be the construction of a bridge by the traction company.
CITY AND COUNTY
Deaths and Funerals.
GARD The funeral of William Gard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gard, three and one-h?!f miles southwest of Richmond, was held yesterday morning at the home. Further services were held in the M. E. church at Milton. The burial was in west side cemetery. McMIXN The funeral services over the remains of William McMinn will be held at the home Wednesday at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Raymond J. Wade, of the First M. E. church, officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 this evening. DRULEY Funeral services - for Mrs. Mary Dniley will be held at the Boston M. E. church, the funeral procession , forming at the home at 10 o'clock. Burial in .the Boston cemetery. '
Attorney Caldwell, of Cincinnati, was in the city yesterday afternoon, and at the office of the county auditor he made application for a franchise for the Richmond & Hamilton Interurban company. The county commissioners will meet Saturday of this week at which time this application will be presented to them, and It is more than probable that the franchise will be granted. Mr. Caldwell stated that the road would run from Richmond to Hamil
ton, along the Hamilton pike, through Boston and Darrtown in Butler county, Ohio. Mr. Caldwell stated that all the right of way had been secured, and that the road had been financed. "All that is necessary to make the road an assured fact is a franshise through Weyne county," stated Mr. Caldwell. The Ohio law requires that the right of way be granted by each property owner along the line of the proposed road. These rights of way have been secured in Butler county, and Mr. Caldwell stated that the property owners in this State along the proposed route had also given rights of way to the company. Queen City Capital. The road is backed by Cincinnati capitalists, the principal promoter being Herman Duhme, Sr., of Wyoming, O. Mr. Duhme was formerly the head of a' prominent jewelry store in Cincinnati. Money for building the road will he advanced by the State Trust and Loan company of St. Louis, Mo. The proposed traction line follows the same route as the road which was promoted about four years ago by James Forkner, a well known Ohio business man, who is now on his death bed. Mr. Forkner secured a franchise through this county, , but never financed the road because of 111 health, which compelled him to retire from active business affairs. The new road will nearly parallel the line of the road that is to be built between Richmond and Hamilton by Cincinnati, Hamilton, Oxford and Richmond capitalists. A. C. Lindemuth, of this city, intimates that the Ohio & Indiana Traction company is not discouraged by the appearance in the field of the Richmond & Hamilton Traction company. Nearly all the stock in the former company has been subscribed and work, it is stated, will soon be started on this line. With the probability of a
third traction company, the proposed Cincinnati, Bluff ton & Chicago, run
ning between Richmond and Hamil
ton it seems certain that there will
De some kmc or traction connection
between the two cities within the
next year.
