Last Monday evening at the residence of Charles Essmaker on South "E" street a masquerade party was given by Miss Essmaker, a daughter, which when the tinle for unmasking came, contained quite a few surpris es. Miss Essmaker, who had been notified of the marriage of her brother, Albert Essmaker, for eighteen months, located in Lincoln, Nebraska, and of his intention to return home during the holidays, kept the marriage a secret and also the fact that her brother was returning and arranged to give the masquerade on the night of his return. When the time came to unmask, Albert Essmaker and his wife unmasked and the new daughter was presented for the first time to her husband's parents. Another son, George Essmaker, and a cousin, Benjamin Essmaker comple ed Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kssmaker's surprise. Mr., and Mrs. Albert Essmaker will make their "future home in Richmond. George Essmaker and his cousin P-enjamia Essmaker will also malie their home in Richmond. vr -5 The danco given last evening In I. O. O. F. Hall by the Juniors of. the High school in honor of the Senior class was one of the most brilliant social affairs of the season. The hall was gayly decorated in the blue and white and black and gold or the two classes streamers were draped from the chandeliers to the pillows of the. lcony " and suspended about the room were tiny R. H. S. penants. Covering the entire south wall of the hall was the gold and black banner of the class of 190S. The programs were dainty little designs in black and gold. Messrs White -and Wilson furnished the music. After the
dances a banquet was served. The officers of the Junior class are: Pres. Howard Reld. Vice Pres. John Carroll. Secy. Martha McClellau. Treas. Robert Crane. The program was selected and arranged by Misses Fannie Jones, Martha McClellan, Messrs Paul Fisher and Robert Crane. ' '
