PATIENCE OF THE POLICE AND AND COURT - OFFICIALS IS ABOUT WORN OUT AND SOMETHING WILL SURELY BREAK.

The Kelley's have effected another reconciliation, or at least that was the word that was passed about the police headquarters yesterday when Bonnielee Kelley appeared before Supt. Bailey and asked that the assault and battery charges which 6he had filed against her husband John

II. Kelley be withdrawn, she stating that she would not appear against him in case he was brought, to. trial. Notwithstanding that John H. Kelley's attorney positively denied that his client had committed the assault as Mrs. Kelley had alleged, she yesterday was wearing a long plaster on' her nose and the side of her face which gave ample evidence that she had been through some fistic mill and had received the worst end of the bargain. Since the charges of assault and battery were filed against Kelley, the police have not been - able' to locate him and it was thought that he had left town till the affair had passed over, he probably thinking that just so soon as his wife once more assumed a forgiving mood she would withdraw the charges against him, and he would be able to return to Richmond and would not be arrested. If this was the case his surmises

were right as Mrs. Kelley said she would not appear against him and it was later reported at headquarters

that Kelley had come into Richmond

on a Dayton car during the day.

The police department is comple

tely disgusted with the actions of the

Kelleys as they have been a source

of trouble to the department for sev

eral months. If it has not been a

divorce case in the circuit court in

which the Kelleys' were star actors

it has been an assault and battery in

police court, all of which have been

settled outside the purisdiction of the

courts. "
