RICHMOND MARKETS

There is not nearly the demand for oysters there was a week ago, or two weeks ago. With fewer sales, prices of Connecticut standards have been cut iic a gallon. Blue Points are the only oysters that are holding up, as far as volume of trade is concerned. Halibut and white fish lead the fish li.-t. Small salmon are also in good demand. There are few yellow salmon. Mallards are more plentiful and arc down $3.00 a dozen. At retail they are $2.30 a pair. Rabbits sell freely, but other game is moving 6 lowly. THE LOCAL MARKETS. Prices of stocks rose in the opening dealings in smypathy with the advances in London, where the order of Secretary of the Treasury Shaw anticipating interest payments had a favorable effect on sentiment.
