Dubliu people are highly elated over the Nelson co-operative factory proposition which was accepted at the mass meeting held on Tuesday night and yesterday there was little else talked of there. The committees which have the preliminaries in hand are already at work and they hope within the next few weeks to have the project well

under way. The Rev. I. W. Caldwell, i

pastor of the Universalist church in Dublin, and w-ho is the personal representative pf X. O. Nelson, the millionaire philanthropist, will communicate with Dublin's benefactor at once and tell him of the acceptance of the proposition. Nelson Now at Winter Home. Mr. Nelson as present is in Bessemer, Ala., where he spends his winters and where he has done much philanthropic work. There is no question that Mr. Nelson will at once proceed to develop the factory scheme for Dublin and it will be carried on much in the same manner as the cooperative factory at Laclaire, 111., and others he has established in the South. There will be no set figure as to the cost. Mr. Nelson desires to build to meet Dublin's needs and should it transpire after a few years that the experiment works well and that a greater capacity is needed, the plant will be added to. At the outset it is anticipated that Mr. Xelson will send approximately $1,000,000. This will ouy the site construct the buildings and install the equipment. Material for the manufacture of plumbers supplies and kindred articles, will be purchased in addition. Nelson Reali7es His Step. As originally stated Mr. Nelson will incorporate the concern under the laws of Indiana and in the beginning all stock will be held by himself and Immediate associates, but may be purchased by any persons that are employed. The success of the factory, it is asserted, is not problematical in the least. Mr. Nelson understands thoroughly what he is doing and he knows before a wheel is turned in the establishment that he will find ready sale for the entire output. Should Dublin not be able to furnish all the labor required there is no

question that there will be an influx of population sufficient to meet the needs of the concern, but all employes must be residents of the town.

The Indianapolis Sun prints the following of interest: "J. A. Spekenhier, pastmaster at Richmond, Ind., at the Claypool, is an enthusiastic motorist and is at the height of his glory when burning up the good roads that lead out of Richmond, among which is the National road to Indianapolis. Mr. Spekenhier likes a big car and a fast car and likes to have his own, hands on the throttle. He says that though motoring is making rapid strides it is yet only in its long dresses stage and that the next few years have a whole lot of surprises in store. Mr. Spekenhier is postmaster at Richmond. He says that that city is on the crest of the wave of prosperity and that Wayne county never saw better times. The crops throughout the county have put all of the farmers in possession of spending money and the business houses in Richmond are correspond inglv pr6sperous. The factories, and

Richmond people generally will endorse the recently started boom for Chailes E. Shiveley for the next governor of the state. Mr. Shiveley's friends tried to get him to make the race for attorney general in the last campaign and he declined after thinking the matter over. Mr. . Spekenhier dees not say that the buzzing of the gubernatorial bee had anything to do with his action in the matter. The Rev. Thomas Kuhn, of Richmond, is spoken of by the Democrat's as candidate for governor on the Democratic ticket."

The police department has a problem on its hands in the case of Rose

Ettinger, the woman vagrant who hails from sunny Italy. Her initial appearance in Richmond dates back six or seven weeks ago, when she created consternation in several Main street business houses by making demands for various articles of merchandise and backing them up with threats which are couched in broken .;. glish. expressive if not together proper and beautiful. After a career here that was metorike in its brevity, Rose vanished but again appeared a week later and ence moreshe rjiused proprietors of Main street stores to back up in the corners and gasp for breath while she poured out some choice samples of profanity. This time she fell into the toils and after spending a night in the city jail she faced Judge Converse in the morning and was convicted of vragancy. She declined to give her name or to tell anything of her past career, but the police were convinced that she had a past if not a name. Finally under persuasive pressure she dt clared that Rose Ettinger was' the titie under which she sailed and the police let it go at that. Under promises that she would shake the dust of Richmond from her skirts, she was permitted to go her way and go she did. Just about the time that the police department was getting settled for a quiet winter, Rose returned and just at present is holding down a cot in Reid Memorial hospital recovering from the effects of the as pliyxiatiou stunt pulled off by Laura Scott-Tate. Supt Bailey does not care to take any chances with the woman becoming a fixture in Jtichmond, hence there is no disposition to send her to jail and another effort will be made to persuade her to leave under threat of severe punishment.

had anything t say. Hau replied: "1 don't understand what this is all about." The prisoner has apparently lost his reason or is feigning insaniiy. For several days he has been confined in tlie prison infirmary and closely guarded owing to fear that he may commit suicid. The case was remanded uatil next week. After adjournment the pavers in his case were placed before Hau. At first he said he could not understand what they meant, but later he read them earnestly. The prisoner is being watched by. German detectives. A representative of the United States embassy was present in court watching the case, but Hau has net yet claimed the protection of the United States nor has he produced his naturalization papers. Commissioners Monday. The December term of the Board of Wayne County Commissioners will begin next Monday. There will be considerable business to transact during the session, incident to the closing up of the business of tho old year.

Indianapolis, Ind.", Nov. 2S. (Spl.) A message was received in this city, today, announcing the death of Dr. William P. Kane, president of Wabash College, at a health resort abort twelve miles out of Hot Springs, Ark. He had gone -there about two weeks ago for a period of complete rest, at the earnest solicitation of the board of trustees of the collegs. The message did not state the cause of Dr. Kane's death, but as his heart and kidneys were affected, it is supposed that this trouble caused his death. Dr. Kane was elected president of Wabash College September 26,
