Patrons of the Gennett have a bon-

Monday night on which dato the

dyll American Pastoral Play "The

volunteer Organist" will bo seen.

It is a pastoral play of an extremly Impressive sort, portraying true o nature scenes and characters found a the most picturesque of Vermont's ural action. The scenic and electrical effects re correct to that atmospLere, while he cast Includes many capable and

listinguished players. The play Is

ne which appeals to the heart aising that gulp to the throat the

"Gay New York" Gennett. It 13 significant to observe the more

ecent development of musical cora-

dy and to mark especially how far

he efforts to legitimatize this class

f entertainment have proceeded.

Kor example there Is to bo a presenta-

ion of "Gay New York' at the Gen-

arted to the lengthy chain of fun nd music novelties that go a great

vay towards supplying the actual vants of the depressed theatre fre-

uenters, and the comedy s story seiz-

d upon to lend poignancy and so-

Tim Murphy Gennett. There is every indication that the

Vaudeville at the Phillips. There remain five opportunities yet this week to see the splendid vaudeville bill that is being put on at the New Phillips vaudeville theatre this afternoon and night. Saturday afternoon and two performances Saturday night. The matinee of Saturday is designed especially for the children, btu that need not keep the old folks away. Those who really care for vaudeville will find a pleasing program that includes singing, dancing and character sbetTes, illustrated songs, motion pictures, a farcical sketch, blackface singing and talking and a turn by a real Indian princess assisted by a cowboy entertainer.
