Ernest Hogan has long been regarded and esteemed as the premier of all entertainers of his race, and his mus ical compositions as well as , his bright and wholesome funnyisms and standards of' enjoyable offerings. of the a more of our sugges with its beyond of muscle, and if you have no muscle you cannot act" The author of Harry B. Linton's "Johnny Wise," which comes to the Gennett on next Friday night evidently sees much wisdom in the aforesaid reasoning, for he has supplied "plenty of action and realism" in his play. Vaudeville at the Phillips. One .of the most interesting iortions of the vaudeville bill at the New Phillips this week will ha the act of Miss Lola Cotton, who is regarded by many as the world's greatest mystic in mental telepathy. Miss Cotton has previously appeared at the new Phillips and all who saw her performances at that time will want-to see her again, as they had never seen her equal in this particular line. In addition to this Manager Murray will give his patrons several other acts of much interest. Including a piano overture and illustrated songs by Miss Ruby Cohen, whose work has been found very acceptable ; eccentric juggling by DeJmo; talking and dancing comedy by Berian Mackin; novelty sketch, introducing the only Cuban pickaninny before the American public, by Gardner, West and Sunshine; violin and yodling work by Chris Christopher; and the Philoscope presenting' three films that are entirely new. Miss Jane Kohler has returned to the city from New York to again assume her position as forewoman in the Richmond Hat Manufacturing Cc.'s plant.
