RICHMOND MARKETS "Just wny one of three kinds of grapes that are about the same quality should be much less popular than the other two is more than I can tell," said a dealer. Wordens sell well, so do Concords. Niagaras, however, have not been in good demand. Demand for California grapes Malagas arid Tokays is heavier than at any time this season. They are of particularly fine quality. Apples 'are selling well with the market showing some weakness, owing to the .large .crop. Pears are firm. Bartletts in , excellent demand. Sales of cranberries are only occasional, the real season being two weeks to a month off. yet. Lemons and oranges sell fairly well, prices being the same as for several days on lemons and as for many weeks on oranges. The vegetable trade is confined principally to potatoes, onions and cabbage. Radishes, lettuce, turnips, beets, eggplant, celery and other sea sonable vegetables are in only average demand. Prices are steady. THE LOCAL MARKETS. (The prices quoted below are those paid by J. M. IHDIMIftPOLIS MARKETS Publishers Pressl Indianapolis, Sept. 25. Receipts, 7,500 hogs,, 2,300 cattle and 700 sheep against 6,377 hogs, 1,553 cattle and 380 sheep last week and 7,101 hogs, 1,543 cattle and 252 sheep a year ago. Receipts of hogs were more liberal but not larger than expected, considering the recent upturn in prices. There were enough to meet all requirements, but with a good demand from outside sources and fair competition' from local packers, the opening market for good medium to heavy grades was, active and steady compar ed with yesterday. Light hogs, however, were in slow demand and sold 5c lower, with some late sales 10c lower. After buying about 2,500 hogs, Kingan & Co. withdrew from the market and subsequent sales were 5c lower than the opening. Cattle Left in Pens. There was an . unusually large run of cattle, most of them sent from other markets. The number of good to choice kinds was small and few were erood enough to command top quotations. There was a fair request for female butcher cattle at aoout steady prices, compared with yesterday's decline, but subsequently the tendency was weaker and final sales were lower. There were few steers sold, and the market was reported weak to lower. There was a fair de mand for feeding cattle at barely steady prices. Bulls were about steady and calves strong. Strong Market for Lambs. There was a fair average run of sheep and lambs, but not more than necessary to accommodate the de mand, which was a little better both from local and outside sources. For lambs there was a strong market with several good enough to sell as high as $7.00. Other sales were at $6.00 6.75. Common lambs were sold as low as $4.00. JGhi Says Irish People Want Complete Measure of Home Rule. Dublin, Sept. 24. John Redmond ir an address here said that the Iris? party and people stood face to fac with a delicate and most extraordln ary situation. The members of th government, -with two or three excep tions, had said they would introduc next year a bill dealing with Irish Belf-government, but he had been in tormed that it was their intention to grant only what they called "adminis trative home rule." The Irish party, Mr. Redmond declared, had no responsibility, direct or indirect, for the pro posal of any such makeshift. Thv Irish people stood where they had , al ways stood. They had declared tha nothing short of a complete measure of home rule, and thereby mant v parliament, freely elected with an ex ecutive responsible thereto, could eve. be accepted in settlement of the Irlsli question.
