New Paris, O., Aug. 10. (Spl) Mr. and Mrs. Will Roach, jr., of Indianpolis visited Mr. Roache's brothers last Thursday. Mr. Roach is a brakeman in the Pennsylvania service and is on his vacation. Miss Dorothy Kirkpatrick and Miss Carrie Haller are on a visit with friends at Camden. Mrs. Clarence Barnett and family who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Barnett returned to Columbus Thursday for a visit with her mother. Mr. Barnett who is still here will join her Sunday and will then return to their home in Pittsburg. Misses Nelle McNeill and Carrie Reid are guests of Miss Winna Morrow at her country home near Campbellstown. Miss Morrow is giving a house party this week. Miss Mable Pence left Thursday morning for a visit with her brother, Harold Ponce, and wifc of Pittsburg. Leonard Young left Thursday for a trip to Niagara Falls. Mrs. Stenselman and daughter of Grand Rapids, Mich., are here visiting Mrs. Stenselman's sister, .Mrs. O. H. Miss Pearl Thomas of Indianapolis was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Bowmaster, yesterday. Mrs. Geo. Butler of Columbus, Ind., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kepler, east of this city. Miss Sarah Williams and Master Herbert Fisher were the guests of relatives in Richmond Wednesday. Miss Susie Freeman has returned after a few days' visit with her cousin Miss Lulu Barnard at Liberty, Ind. Miss Beatrice Swallow of East Gerniantown, was the yuest of friends in this city Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Crossley visited relatives at Richmond today. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Smith has gone to Atlantic City, where they will make a two months' visit. Miss Lillian Brooks was the finest of relatives in New Castle Wednesday. Mrs. .1. I Weaver of Hagerstown, visited her daughter, Mrs. Oia Wheeler, who has been seriously ill for the past week, but is slowly recovering.

David Ocher the new section boss on the Big Four will soon move to Milton. David Strausser a farmer resident of this vicinity has been here renewing old acquaintances. Daniel Sigler of Cambridge City has the contract for Mrs. Alice II. (Jresh's new house. Miss Gertrude Crull and brother, Edgar were among the Niagara excursionists. John Bowman has returned from the Bowman reunion at Greenville, Ohio. Miss Carrie Walker is at New Castle visiting relatives. Scott George has returned from Reid Hospital where he underwent an operation for appendicitis and is doing nicely. Our Mission fields in South America is the subject of the W. F. M. S. at Miss Walker's Friday afternoon. The Doddridge M. E. and the C W. B. M. of Milton Christian church are to be the guests. Rev. A. R. Jones will preach Sunday at the M. E. church. Mrs. G. Jensen and children are vis iting in the Doddridge neighborhood while the Rev. (J. Jensen is in Richmond receiving treatment from an occulist. A large number of Milton people attended the county meeting of the Christian church at Jackson's Park and enjoyed a five day outing. Will Wallace is erecting a very large vxeranda at his pretty country home "Sunny Side." The Ladies' Cemetery Association will meet with Miss Elizabeth Morris next Monday evening. Miss Hall of Glenwood has been visiting Miss Hazel Ferguson. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Williams were guests of Miss Elizabeth Smelser, south of Richmond. Laz Monger of Bentonville was in Milton Thursday. Rev. A. R. Jones has purchased a new niano. Mrs. Wm. Hofman of Concinnati is at her father's. Joseph Stonecipher. Mrs. Mary Elliott of Indianapolis is the guest of Miss Nora Campbell. Will Brown and wife hve returned from an outing at Northern Indiana lakes.

Centerville, Ind.. Aug. 10. (Spl) There will be union services of the churches of Centerville on Sunday evening at the Methodist church. The Rev. L. A. Winn of the Christian church will preach the sermon. The Rev. E. B. Westhafer will hold services at Olive Hiii at 10:U a m. The Rev. Alonzo Cloud will hold services at the Friends' church at 10:30 a. m. and at Bryan's chapel at 2:30 p. m. Services will be held at the Christian church at 10:30 a. m. Preaching by the pastor L. A. Winn.

Hay Ride to Greensfork. Hagerstown. Ind., Aug. 10. (Spl.) A number of Hagerstown young people enjoyed a hay ride to Greensfork and from there to Cambridge Thursday night. The party was composed of Misses Kees. Thornburg. Roller. Knapp. Simmons, Rheinegger and Newcorab and Messrs. llindman. Day. Nicholson, Burns. Durbin and Xeniphen and Hugh Gohreng.
