Publishers' PressJ Indianapolis, Ind.. July 24. Receipts 8,000 hogs, 1,650 cattle and 550 sheep. There was a fair average run of hogs. All buyers were in the field and with an active demand, especially from shippers, for good to choice hogs of all kinds, trading was brisk at a general advance of 5c. Some of the best light hogs sold 10c higher. There was a good active demand for desirable corn-fed cattle steady to strong prices, while the best grades of steers were 10c higher. There was little inquiry for common to medium cattle of any kind. They were irregularly lower, 50c lower than two weeks ago. Receipts of sheep and lambs were smaller than they have been, and with a good demand both from local and outside sources, trading was active at higher prices for good selections and barely steady for others. Their Unceasing Work Keeps us Strong and Healthy. All the blood in the body passes fhrough the kidneys once every three minutes. The kidneys filter the blood. They work night and day. When healthy they remove about 500 grains of impure matter daily, when unhealthy some part of this impure matter Is left in the blood. This brings on many diseases and symptoms pain In the back, headache, nervousness, hot, dry skin, rheumatism, gout, gravel, disorders of the eyesight and hearing, dizziness, irregular heart, debility, drowsiness, dropsy, deposits in the urine, etc. But if you keep the niters right you will have no trouble with your kidneys. Geo. Fox, 622 Main street, says: "When in A. G. Luken's drug store I heard Doan's Kidney Pills highly spoken of and I procured a box for my sister who was suffering from what the doctors called lumbago, but which failed to yield to their treatment. I had her take Doan's Kidney Pills and after finishing the treatment she remarked how much better she felt." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents. Foster-Milburn Co., Buffalo, New York, sole agents for the United States. Remember the name, Doan's and take no other. "Suffered day and night the torment of itching piles. Nothing helped me until I used Doan's Ointment. It cured me permanently." Hon. John R. Garrett. Mayor, Girard. Ala. Accidents will happen, but the best regulated families keen Dr. Thomas' Eclectrlc Oil for such emergencies. It subdues the pain and heals the hurts. It brings to the little one- that priceless gift of healthy fiesh. solid bone and muscle. That's what Hoilister's Rocky Mountain Tea does. Best baby medicine on earth. Tea or Tablets, 35 cent. A. G. GEORGE PIEHA, Administrator. Robbins & Starr, Attorneys. James A. GaifirM'i Brother. Thomas Garfield, a brother of Presi dent Garfield, Is Mving near Hudsonville, Mich. He Is eighty-three years old and has lived In the state and on the farm he owns for forty years. Mr. Garfield has never been in Washington. "After James had been elected president," says he, "I went to Mentor to visit him for a week before he went to Washington. While there he told me that It was the worst thing that could have happened to him. lie wanted to go to the senate, where he thought he could accomplish more good, but the presidency was forced upon him. When I started to come home James came to Cleveland with me and put me on the train. Ills last words to me were: Thomas, I have to say goodby to you. You are going back to a quiet Michigan home, while I am going where I shall have Increased anxiety and cares.' The next time I saw James he was a corpse." The Incoming Stream of Diamonds. More than $36,000,000 worth of diamonds and other precious stones have been imported into the United States during the past calendar year. This importation of diamonds and precious stones Is bv far the largest in the history of theUnited States, the high water mark in earlier years having been $28,500,000 in 1903, while 1904 showed but $27,750,000. In the ten months of 1905 ended with the month of October the total was over $31,000,000, or more than in any full year prior to 1905. The Importation of these ten months, amounting to $31,359,157, gives an average of over $3,000,000 per month, so that it may reasonably be assumed that the figures for the two following months will bring the total up to $3G,000,000 as against $27,750,000 In 1904 and $28,500,000 In 1903.
