Vaudeville at the Gennett. One of the most expensive acts ever brought to the Gennett by Manager Swisher is Hickey and Nelson, who will be headliners of this week's bill. They are eccentric comiques who nut on a laughing success entitled "Twisted and Tangled." Hickey and Nelson have not been playing cit-

Lovers of juggling, who have been deprived of this, style of entertainment for a while as the bills have not called for it, will see, Campbell and Brady this week in a novelty act that consists of club juggling, dancing and novelty juggling. The program also calls for a turn by Karl Lambert, a female impersonator of such ability that the deception is almost impossible to discover; Ernest Re"k in illustrated songs, which are "Star of My Life" and "I'll be Waiting in the Gloaming. Genevieve," and three motion p tures shown by the Genoscope. entitled "Aerial Billardists" "A Father's Honor" and I've Lost My Collar Button." All told the bill looks mighty good and a week of splendid business is anticipated. Vaudeville at the Phillips. One of the features on the vaudeville program provided for the New Hilllips this week is the very clever team Billy Arnold and Lida Gardner who present a comedr sketch, "The Minstrels" in which Lida Gardner, one of the best of mle impersonators will appear as "The Broadday Swell." Press reports Indicate that this team has been making a big hit and will prove a fitting one to close the bill at the New Phillips this week in good style. Juggling and musical novelty, which were not on the bill the past week, will be restored this week, ris Al Leonhardt to do a grotesque juggling comedian turn and Carla Holmes and Mazie Deane. a high class musical novelty. Other features on the bill are Jennings and Renfrow, who are known as "the boys who sing their own songs;' Billy Tann. the dancing man. who is expected to show some new and novel steps in the dancing line; Clayton Hufford, in illustrated songs, in the singing of which he has proven highly satisfactory, and three motion picture films projected by the Philoscope entitled. "A Three Cent Leak," "Smoke and Soot" and "A Wig Chase." As will be seen, the bill of-

A FAMOUS FAMILY OF AERIALISTS. One of the striking features promised at the Hagarstown fair this week is the family of aerialists pictured above. Their act is thrilling in the extreme and it is said not duplicated by any performers in this country. The act will be given in front of the grand stand. V

fers a pleasing variety as it includes juggling, musical novelty, vocal numbers, dancing, illustrated songs, motion pictures and a comedy sketch, certainly enough for each patron of vaudeville, to find things that suits him. There is no doubt of the usual liberal patronage.

THE COOKBOOK.

Sansaees should be served with apple sauce or baked tomatoes. Either makes theui more -easily digested. To bake potatoes quickly boil them In salted water for ten minutes, then put In he,ov?ii. The boiling water will beat them through so they cook In a short time. One of those escalloped dishes which are such a boon to the housekeeper with left overs on her hands Is made in layers of cooked hominy, tomato sauce and .pamesaa , cheese. Repeat till the dish Is full, then cover with buttered cracker crumbs and bake until brown. A Freach housewife does not add flour to her gravy which she prepares from the fcavary. drippings of roast meat Tiie Jellrlike particles that float In tie beef drippings should not be strained, off with 'the rest of the sediment, as they are, both appetizing

Tbe Onprey. Allusion is often made, especially In fashion Journals, to "osprey" feathers. Few words have been more loosely bandied about than this bird name. The Roman author Pliny's "ossifraga" (bone breaker) has been Identified with tbe lammergeyer, a vulture tkat Is reputed to break up bones too big for It to devour whole by dropping them from a height upon rocks. But both "ossifrage" and "osprey," a newer form, came to be applied to quite another bird, the fish hawk, which Is now the true "osprey." Yet the "osprey" feathers more properly egret feathers, or aigrettes do not come from this. bird, but from the egret, or lesser white heron.

THE JAW AND THE TEETH. Wht Mar Happen If , We Continue 1'iInK Soft Foods. The teeth are really appendages of the skin, and not of the skeleton, as people generally believe. The Jaw is formed in accordance with the necessity for providing a hold for the teeth that is, if there were no teeth to come, the Jaw would grow differently, and would not have its preeeut shape. The Jaw is not an Independent part as it would like to be; it has to form itself to accommodate tenants with w-hiclu strictly speaking, it has no ties of kindred. The use of soft foods decreases the Blze of the teeth,- and they will ultimately disappear, unless we make more use of them. As there does not seem to be any likelihood of a change in our habits, we must expect to lose them in course of time. Then the jaw will assume probably another shape. Further, the gums miyht disappear, for there can be no use for thcin after the disappearance of the teeth. The loss of the teeth makes the lips fall In, and brings us near to the Punch form of face! We find it impossible to pronounce eouikW such as t, d, sh, oh. The change of face, so to say, will certainly lead to a modification of the tongue, and this in turn to.the inability to pronounce other sounds.

The Sea Otter. The sea otter combines the habits of a seal with the. Intelligence and amusing character of the otter. When met in herds far out at sea, which is but seldom now, they are commonly seen swimming on their backs. They even eat their food lying In this position on the water and nurse their young ones on their chests between their paws, exactly as a south sea Island mother swims with her baby In the water. When swimming tn this attitude they even shade their eyes with their paws when the sun dazzles, them.

Atonic Bysyepela. The ultimate cause of atonic dyspepsia is constitutional depression. It may be due to overwork, and especially to prolonged worry. Sometimes the dyspepsia is the first manifestation of tubercular poisoning. Again, there seems to Ik? an inherent failure of the digestive organs. Once established, dyspepsia is, in turu, the cause of loa of strength, of menta! Juertla and vlsrerdl weakness. Souk- detree of simple anaemia is almost Inevitable. There are some men who might be worse than they are, but they don't know it. , 1 theory that doesn't allow for friction is apt to get a Viretty bard rub.

child urinates too often, if the urine scalds the flesh, or if, when the child reaches an age when it should be able to control tht passage, it is yet affiicted with, bed-wetting, depend upon it, the cause of the difficulty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the treatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and not to a habit as most people suppose.
