AT THE THEATERS
Vtudevllle at the Phillips. Performances this afternoon and tonight will conclude a successful weefc at the New Phillips for despite the extreme heat the attendance has been very satisfactory. Eight electric fans used at the house have sufficed to make the place comfortable for the patrons. Attention is again called to the very successful work of Ed. Hays in blackface, as he Is one of the most amusing performers in this role the Phillips has ever had. All who care for blackface will miss a rare treat if they fail to hear him before the week is over. A strong bill for next week will be announced tomorrow and the same liberal patronage is expected despite the fact that the carnival and band concert will be counter attractions.

Vaudeville at the Gennett. There are three performances remaining in which patrons of the Gennett can see "Humorous Phases of Funny Faces," one of the most ludlorous motion picture films ever shown at this house, and it is certain that if those who see it do not laugh they are confirmed dyspeptics and devoid of the milk of human kindness. Lovers of the spectacular have been greatly pleased with the act put on by Miss Jeannette Laurelle, assisted by Otis Laurelle, in which there is a marvelous combination of lights and pictures. Next week's bill, which is to contain another feature of special Interest will be announced tomorrow. Patronage holds up to a most satisfactory degree.

HERNLEY TRYING TO SHOW SORE TOE
A. W. Tracy Sheds Light on the Statements he Made About Mr. Watson.
WERE FORMERLY FRIENDS
HERNLEY TRIED TO LAND A JOB AND WATSON HELPED, BUT THEY FAILED NOW NEW CAS TLE MAN IS SORE.
(By A. W. Tracy.) Washington, July 20,. Indiana Republicans In Washington were very much surprised at the interview of former Republican State Chairman, Chas. S. Hernley of New Castle, published in Indianapolis, a few days ago and all to a man repudiate and dispute his statements. Many of the Hoosiers in Washington recall Mr. Hernley's former enthusiasm and friendship for Congressman Watson whom he now seeks to defeat, and are asking why this "face about." ASixth District Republican in this city is authority for the statement that Representative Watson was never as popular with the people at home as
he is now. He says further that there is practically no anti-Watson sentiment in Mr. Hernley's home county and he thinks that the sixth district member will be returned by larger figures than ever. Another Indiana Republican, talking of the interview, says that no one ever worked harder for another man than did Mr. Watson for Mr. Hernley when the latter was seeking a federal appointment. "Watson nearly turned everything upside down trying to land for his friend Hernley and because other things mitigated against him, Mr. Hernley has turned his back on his friends." In answer to Hernley's attack on Representative Charley Landis because he made a stand pat tariff speech in the House this last session, it is pointed out that the Republican congressional committee think well enough of the speech to put it into the campaign text book this year. Both Watson and Landis were in line with the policy of a Republican president and a Republican administration and their positions were heartily endorsed by the party leaders. The Indiana Republicans in Washington do not take well to Mr. Hernley's statements and say that he is only trying to show his sore toe which has been in political oblivion for a few years past.

Women as Well as Men Are nail Miserable by Kidney and Bladder Trouble. Kidney trouble preys upon the mind, discourages and lessen s ambition ; beauty.
vigor, and cheerful ness soon disappear when the kidneys are out of order or diseased. Kidney trouble has become so prevalent that it is not uncommon for a child to be born afflicted with weak kidneys. If the
child urinates too often, if the urine scalds the flesh, or if, when the child reaches an age when it should be able to control the passage, it is yet afflicted with bed-wetting, depend upon it, the cause of the diffi culty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the treatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and not to a habit as most people suppose. , Women as well as men are made miser ble with kidney and bladder trouble, and both need the same great remedy.
