Cabbage shows a weaker tendency, under Increased receipts, some wholeBale houses asking only 65c a barrel for first-class stock. The average price was about 75c. Potatoes were taken freely at $2.23 to ??.50 a barrel.. Cucumbers continue In good demand, 25c to 35c a dozen being asked for the best stock. More home-grown tomatoes were on sale than at any time thus far this season. Price range was $3.23 to $3.75 a bushel. Tennessee stock brousht S5c to 95c a four-basket carrier, but did not sell rapidly as long as homo-srown tomatoes were to bo had. Indianapolis, July 19. Receipts, 7,000 hogs, 1,500 cattle and 500 sheep, against 7,358 hogs, 1.416 cattle and 592 sheep a week ago ard 5.074 hogs, 1,058 cattle and 184 sheeu a year ago. Notwithstanding receipts of hogs were smaller, buyers bid lower prices in harmony with the developments of the1 trade elsewhere. Trading was fairly active at a decline of 5?tl0c. Fair Demand for Cattle. . Receipts of cattle were much smaller than heretofore this week, but the supplv was fair for Thursday and eri:;)l to the demand. At the start the market was dull, but later there was fuir competition between local and outside forces and good to choice stock sold steady. Smaller Sheen Receipts. Receipts of sheen and lambs were considerably smaller. Although the demand from outside sources was only fair, there was a better inquiry from local butchers, and trading was fairly active at steady prices. Generally, however, sales are still 50c lower than last week.
