SHE OF MAR'S ESCAPADE IN CITY

Miss Elizabeth McLure Enroute in Auto Stops at Wescott for Dinner. WAS VERY QUIET VISIT ALTHOUGH TALKED ABOUT IN ALL PAPERS FOR BREAKING VASSAR'S RULES MISS McLURE ATTRACTED NO ATTENTION. Last Friday Richmond was unconsciously graced by the presence of Miss Elizabeth McLure. who attained universal newspaper notoriety by the role she played in a "college escapade" which had for stase settings an automobile, an inn fifteen miles distant, and last buc not least the rigid rules of Vassar College and a dear petite maiden in her "nightie" who touched pretty feet to cool hard stone and loosened the forbidding bars on the college portals to let the tardy party back in to the walls of Alma Mater. The story goes that about two weeks before the Vassar commencement Miss McLure with Mr. R. M. Shaffer in an automobile, accompanied by her sister- and Miss Sarah Murdock on horseback, went to an inn fifteen miles from the institution of unsophisticated iearniii2 for supper and returned at a late hour when they were let In by the girl in the nightgown. The rules at Vassar required that all students must be on the campus at seven o'clock. Miss Hetty wasn't and so she was suspended for two weeks. Miss McLure passed through the city with a party of friends in a mo tor car en rente for Chicaso. She took dinner at the Westcott Hotel. AT THE THEATERS Vaudeville at the Gennett. Manager Swisher of the Gennett, is especially well pleased with the bill he has secured for his patrons this week, In that it is headed by Ethel Whiteside and her . pickiniunies, an act that is reputed to be an absolute novelty, and one that cannot fail to please the audiences. In addition to this feature, the bill provides for Virginia Iiayden, a phenomenal baritone, said to bo a rival of the late Ilelen.a Mora; Dixon and Fields, America's representative German comedians; the Four Dancing Harrises, refined novelty singing and dancing, and the Genoscope, showing the latest motion pictures. The week that closed with Saturday night's performance at the Gennett was a satisfactory one in every way, but it is expected that this week will far eclipse it. Vaudeville at the New Phillips. One of the interesting facts in connection with the vaudeville bill to bo u at the New Phillips this week 1?; if Eclgar Geyer, a former Richmond bey. will be one of the performers, presenting a Juggling and equilibrist act that i3 reported to be one of the boFt. Mr. Geier has achieved a considerable reputation in vaudeville, and it is believed his Richmond friends will take this opportunity to give him a cordial greeting. In addition. Manager Murray has secured Edward Cannon an eccentric comedian who comes with strong recommendations; Mylie and Orth, a comedy sketch team; Miss Leona Thompson in Illustrated songs. "My Heart's Tonight in Texas," and "Will the Angles Let Me Play?" the Lamonts in a banjo and singing novelty, a blackface comedy sketch by Seeker Wilkes .ft Co., and the Philoscope, showing the latest motion pictures. nADE FROn NATIVE ROOTS. SAFE AND RELIABLE. That the roots of many native plants, growing wild in our American forests, potess remarkable properties for the euro of human maladies is well proven. Even the untutond Indian had learned the curative value o4 some of these and taught the early settlers their uses. The Indian never liked work so he wanted his squaw to get well as son as possible thai she ruiffhi do the work and let him hunt. Therefore, he dug "papoose root for her, for that was their great remedy for female weaknesses. Dr. Pierce uses the same root called Blue Cohosh in his "Favorite Prescription." skillfully combined with other agents that make it more effective than any other medicine in curing all the various weaknesses and painful derangements peculiar to women. Many afflicted women have leen saved from the operating tabic and the surf eon's knife by the timely use of Doctor lerce's Favorite Prescription. Tenderness over the lower pelvic region, with backache, spells of Jizziiiess. faintness, tiearinsi down pains or distress should not go unheeded. A course of " Favorite Prescription " will work marveious Ivnetit in all such cases, and generally effect a permanent cure if persisted in for a reasonable ltMigth of time. The "Favorite Prescription" is a harmless agent, hein? wholly prepared from native medicinal roots, without a drop of aJcohol in its make up. whereas all other medicines, put up for sale through druggists for woman's peculiar ailments, contain largo quantities of spirituous liquors, which are very harmful, especially to delicate women. "Favorite Prescription" contains neither alcohol nor harmful habitforming drugs. All its Ingredients are printed on each bottle wrapper. It is a powerful invigorating tonic, imparting health and strength in particular to the organs distinctly feminine. For weak and sickly women, who are "worn-out," or debilitated, especially for women who work in store, oflice. or school-room, who sit at the typew riter or sewing machine, or bear heavy household burdens, and for nursing mothers. Dr. Pierce's Favorite Proscription will prove a priceless benefit because of its health - restoring and strength-giving power. For constipation, the true, scientific cure is Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets. Mild, harmless, yet sure.
