A. R. Carrlngton In the great "Military" Novelties at the Phillips this week.
Vaudeville at the Phillips. It is to laugh that is if you see the vaudeville bill at the New Phillips this week for it contains a large amount of amusing matter, as well as performances that show abilitv and skill. Despite the counter attractions of Fourth of July picnics and other events in keeping with the holiday, it is expected that many will seek entertainment at the New Phillips and they will be well repaid by the expenditure of a small sum of money. The only way to really get a full appreciation of the bill Is to go and see it for yourself. Vaudeville at the Gennett. They have the goods that is to say the vaudeville performers at the Gennett' this week are delivering them and they are all wool and a yard wide, to use the figurative term. That the patrons of the house are pleased is putting it mildly; they are more than pleased with the program that has been prepared for the'r enjoyment. Unless you have an urgent engagement for the Fourth of July, it will be well to so to the Gennett and take your families for there will be a
bountiful return for the little money that it is necessary to Invest.

FINE CHURCH IN RUINS
The Great Church of St. Michael at
' Hamburg, Germany, Is Destroyed by Cruel Flames
tPubllshers' Press Hamburg, July 3. i "iie great cnurcn of St. Michael with its tower and spire 26 feet high, was totally destroyed by fire. The tower in falling crushed several neighboring houses and they caught fire. Four workmen who were repairing the church were killed. The fire spread rapidly. Rows of buildings on Englischeplank, Boemische and Kraienkampf streets were burned. The wind blew strongly and the whole fire department of the city with many volunteers was engaged in the endeavor to stop the progress of the conflagration. The fire probably originated from defective electric connection. "When the tower fell, the many thousands of spectators uttered involuntary cries that, together, sounded like a vast sigh. The flames then blew up fiercely and began to spread to adjoining houses. The fire department finally succeeded in obtaining control of the flames. T church was the city's chief object pride. It was largely of brick and wt&s erected on the site of the ancient church burned in 1750 as the re9ult of being struck by lightning. Killing Off the Cops. Warsaw; Russian Poland, July 3. The determination of terrorists to terminate the police force shows no signs of wavering. Tuesday two more police sergeants were added to the already long death' roll. Both men were shot and killed on the streets and the assassins, escaped.
To Exploit Palestine. Tannersville, N. Y.. July 3. A letter from Dr. Max Nordeau of Paris, containing a strong appeal for the support of the already established Jewish institutions in Palestine, aroused much enthusiasm at the session of the Federation of American Zionists nere. The commission recommended the organization of commercial, Industrial and agricultural syndicates for the exploiting of the resources of Palestine.
