The Senior class o fhigh school finished its school work Friday and will hold its graduating exercises June 15 in the school hall. Final examinations will be held at high school next week as school will close In two weeks. The high school base ball team has disbanded for this season and the players will all probably seek places on the different city teams. The team only played five games, winning three. The team tried Ijard to secure games out of town but finally had to play all its games with home teams. The players are the only ones that have represented high school for the past three years. Professor Frank Thilly, who holds the chair of philosophy at Princeton university, will go to Cornell as a full professor in the Sage School of Philosophy next fall. Dr. Henry H. Converse of the mathematics department of the Polytechnic institute, Baltimore, has resigned from that Institution and accepted a position in Davis and Elkins college, in West Virginia. The public school authorities of Columbus, Ga., ordered all teachers to hold special exercises on tho Confederate Memorial day, June 3, and on the birthdays of Lee and Davis and to explain their meaning. The trustees of Columbia university have nominated and the Prussian ministry of education has confirmed President Arthur T. Hadley of Yale university to be Roosevelt professor of American history and institutions in the University of Berlin for the academic year 1907-08. SCIENCE SIFTINGS. The highest kite ascent was lately made at Llndenberg, Prussia, 21,100 feet being reached, with six attached kites and 10,000 yards of wire.
