The Nyterlnt Hamilton. Andrew Hamilton, legislative-agent of the New York Life Insurance company, who has Just returned to this country from Paris, early became one of the mysteries of the recent insurance Investigation. As the hearings progressed the amount chargeable to Hamilton, for which he had never accounted more than by giving blanket vouchers, grew and grew until by the time the Armstrong committee adjourned upward of $1.0U0.CC0 had been traced to him a.s presumptive spending agent. An accounting sent from Paris by Hamilton proved to b. a long discus Kion of the purposes of tae legislative bureau, in which it w is a Imittt-d th it lie had spent in iN srrviCL $7'.r.."0 and asserted th:!t this had resulted in various w.ivs in a net saving of .'JJ.47U.loJ ; n anpi:::w i:. I A sharp eyed citizen who has had the pleasure of having Speaker Cannon do certain things for him and refrain from doing certain others has discovered that when the speaker Intends granting a request he fishes out an old envelope, writes a note or two thereon and stuffs it down in the right hand pocket of his trousers. The other day Secretary Wilson says he saw the speaker going up Capitol hill with his pocket bulging with old envelopes on which were written the commissions he had received during the morning hours and which he . Intended to execute. Sometimes the speaker loses some of the envelopes on which he has made his notes, and then there Is trouble for everybody concerned. Pittsburg Dispatch. The Accused Labor Leaders. The coming trial of officials of the Western Federation of Miners, charged with complicity In the murder of former Governor Steunenberg of Idaho, will reveal a startling state of affairs If the statements of detectives are to be believed. "Springing on to the sill, I got astride the ladder and, shutting my eyes, com menced to pull myself across. Cries of encouragement arose from the crowd below, but to look downward was death, and I crawled on. I smashed in the entire window, then leaped Into the room. "The little child was lying In the corner In a swoon. Ticking her. up. I remounted my temporary bridge and commenced the perilous return. The heat was intense and the suffocating smoke threatened every moment to overpower me, but with a fixed heart I clasped her to my breast and forced my way across. If the adjective "angry" la chosen each player answering must show some anger by his manner, tone of voice, etc.. but the answers themselves must be as misleading as possible. The player who makes such an answer as enables the questioner to guess must take tho next turn fit leaving the room. Convulsion, FitS, then Epilepsy. Dr. Miles' Restorative Nervine has been so successful in curing these brain-wrecking diseases that there is every reason to believe that even the most hopeless cases can be benefited, if not fully restored. We will be pleased to refer t any one thus afflicted to many who now enjoy the blessing of health, after years of hopeless suffering. "I have a son that had brain fever when two years old, followed by fits of the worst type, and he was pronounced , Incurable. I spent hundreds of dollars tor him, without relief. After about fifteen years he became so bad that we sent him to Long-cliff hospital for the Insane, at Loaranaport. Ind. He was there nearly three years, but he continued to grow worse, so we brought him home July 80. 1902, in an awful condition. He had lost his mind almost enUrely. He hardly knew one of the family; could not even find his bed; was a total wreck. He had from 6 to 10 fits a day. We were urged to try Dr. Miles' Nervine, and before the first bottle was used, we could see a change for the bst.w. We have given It to him ever since, and he has had but two very light spells since last August, 190S, and then he was not well other : ways. We pronounce him cured, as he ; can woric ana go anywhere, u any one wishes to aslc any questions concerning thls, they are at liberty to do so." 22. H. BUNNELL. Lincoln. Ind. Dr. Miles Nervine l sold by your drucalst, who will guarantee that the first lottle will benefit. If It fails, he will refund your money.
