For Infants and Children. The Kind You Have Always Bought Bears the Signature of Thirty Years TMB CENTAUR OHIKNV. H(W TO (MTV. " " !?., I. 11. Wm f. i at T it, Ti . J OPEN TO ALL. , This little book of extracts, contains, in Slain English, the name of every ingretent which enters into Doctor Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery, the famous cure for weak stomach or dyspepsia, torpid liver, or " biliousness," bad blood, and all catarrhal diseases of the several mucous passages. By reading this little book, you will learn why this medicine cures such a wide range of diseases. You . will find that two of the prominent tngredlents of the "Golden Medical Discovery." are recommended by tne medical writers of all the several schools of practice for the cure of diseases of the mucous surfaces, as catarrh of the nasal passages, of the stomach and bowels, including ulceration of the same. Yon will find these agents also spoken of as the best of remedies for all cases of atonic dyspepsia, that Is dyspepsia dependent upon weakness of the stomach Itself museum lar weakness; also, for kidney and blad-' dor diseases. v . Several of the Ingredients entering Into the " Golden Medical Discovery," viz : Queen's root, Black Cherrybark, Stone root and Bloodroot are - highly recommended for chronic, or lingering coughs,' and for all chronic, bronchial and laryngeal, or throat affections. In fact, some of the writers go so far as to state that the active medicinal principle contained ln Queen's root alone will cure bad cases of bronchitis. Is it not reasonable then' to expect much . ln the way of curative results from a compound containing not one but Jour Ingredients, each of which. has a reputation for curlfiir bronchial and tnroat nuectior -accompanied with-oi7 stinate cougnv uoservation, nowever, leads .the makers of this famous medicine to recommend the "Discovery" for chronic or lingering coughs, rather than for acute .colds and coughs. In the latter! case it Is generally not quite "loosening," or expectorant enough unless mucilage ; of slippery elm, flax seed or Gum Arabic be drank freely at same time it Is being used, but when the cough has passed Its acute stage, if still persistant, the "Discovery" will prove a sovereign remedy for Its control. BEAD AND YOU WILL KNOW. From the same little book of extracts It will readily be seen why Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription works such marvelous cures In those chronic and distressing diseases peculiar to women. In all cases of pelvic catarrh with weakening drains, bearing or "dragging-down " Sains or distress, and In all menstrual erangements and Irregularities, the "Favorite Prescription" will be found to be made of just the right Ingredients to meet and cure the trouble. M Forty Electric Lines Have Been Projected and Many of Them Will Be Constructed This Year. 'The Railway Gazette," a prominent road publication, contains in its last issue a complete list of the different steam and electric roads which will be constructed in this country during the next eight months. Hundreds of new roads have been incorporated, and work has been com menced on the majority of them, but everywhere the tendency is not to build steam roads, but to make use of the newer power, electricity. 4 In Indiana alone, there are nearly forty new electric lines to be built, or are projected, and they "will, when completed, join all the prominent cit ies in the central west. The Indianapolis & Western, from Indianapolis to Terre Haute, is one of the most important roads- which is to be built. This will connect, with the Indianapolis & Easten and may possbly run cars from one side of the state to the other before another year. A Chicago and Indianapolis fast electric line is to be built, beside a very network of small roads in every part of the state. - Well Worth Trying. ; W. H. Mathematician on Indianapolis Star Docs Some Unique Figuring for the Readers. If a snow man should be built of all the snow now on the ground in the city of Indianapolis be woujd be larger than J 'giants" in the days when giants were supposed to live, says the mathematical prodigy of the Indianapolis Star. By actual figures it has been ascertained that there are now S4S,473043 cubic feet of snow in Indiapolis, which weighs 16,D69,4G0,SG0 pounds. By careful calculation it hts been ascertained that if all this snow could be gathered together it would make a snow man 80,347 miles high, and 32,139 miles broad. " And this monster man is now spread out as a white covering fourteen and sixtenths inches thick over the city of Indianapolis. ' In addition to this gigantic snow man many other things could be made out of this snow. . An army consisting of 847,204 men could be formed each man being about five feet high. Of this same snow there could be 1,842 monuments erected as large as that of which Indianapolis boasts. Never can tell 'when you'll mash a finger or suffer a cut, bruise, burn or scald. Be prepared. Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil instantly relieves the pain quickly cures the wound. GRIP NOT PREVALENT Fewer Cases of Genuine Article Than Usual at This Season of the Year. "Not so much grip in Richmond thjs month of Marchas usual," said a physician to ; the Palladium yesterday, "though there is a great deal of sickness, most of it s mild in character. There are . many sore thrpats and many severe colds, but the old styled, dyed-in-the-wool grip is not so much in evidence. With the thaw of this snow there wll be increased sickness. When people thoroughly understand the value of keeping their feet dry there will not be so much sickness of the kind described. Walking through the slush that is - now bound to result will bring many1 people to their beds before the week is over.
