A BEVY OF COURT BEAUTIES CROWDED HOUSE WILL GREET HER mS8 RO SELLA KNOTT WILL GET A GOOD RECEPTION AT DENNETT TONIGHT. ANOTHER GOOD SHOW FRIDAY "His Highness of Bey" Had a Long Run in Chicago Big Crowd at the Phillips. From the friendliest kind of a reception in Indianapolis, Roselle Knott, playing Mary Tudor, in "When Knighthood was in Flower" comes to the Gennett tonight. The sale of seats for the show indicates that one of the largest houses of the season will gieet the play as over two thirds of the seats had been sold by yesterday noon. Roselle Knott and the vehicle she is now in, needs no introduction to a Richmond pub lic. All that is necessary to say is that the play is in better shape than ever before and the company is strong. , "His Highness of Bey." Bubbling over with tuneful and tasteful musical numbers and fitting dialogue, and plenty of action, "His Highness the Bey" has been running in Chicago all winter. Howard, Hough and Adams are reresponsible for the book and music. The scenic mounting, electrical novelties and costuming are more pre tentious than anything here this season, while the cast, headed by Phil W. Peters, Ursula Marsh and Mabel McCane, is better than it has ever been. The chorus, from a musical and beauty standpoint, is without question without an equal and the sprightly "Broilers" nightly dancing themselves into favor. "His Highness the Bey," will be the attraction at the Gennett Theatre next Friday night. Great Bill at the New Phillips. It is not stretching the truth in least to say that the bill inaugurated at the New Phillips vaudeville theatre yesterday is without doubt one of the very best that has ever been presented at this popular play house. I Without exception, the numbers are I meritorious and last night a stand ing-room-only crowd manifested much enthusiasm. It was indeed an auspicious opening of the week's business and Manager Murray is more than pleased with the selections he has made and with the apprecia tion shown by the public. Jim and Sam, the trained dogs presented by Phil and Carrie Russell are a distinct features of the bill, and are perhaps as good animals entertainers as were ever seen at this house. Arthur and Bessie Krona not only put on a sketch entitled "The Dude of the Village," that is quite clever, but Mr. Krona is a juggler of rare ability, his exceptional work calling forth tremendous applause. Miss Lucv Wulfken, the flexible marvel, does all that the press notices say for her. Lawrence Albertia, juggler, equilibrist, balancer and wire hair marvel, is truly wonderful and nothing in the way of his performance has ever before been seen at the New Phillips. He held up six hundred pounds with his teeth, with the added weight of a man, while at the same time two men were lifted by his hair. Albertia is a physical giant. Bryon and

Matrimonial Sweets in Family1 J&rsf -that added to the bill, while the illustrated songs and the motion pictures round out a program tbat should be seen by every lover of vaudeville in Richmond and vieinity. "The Train WYeckers," one of the motion pictures, is especially thrilling. James J. Hill says the eounlry is too extravagant, and there are indications that the eountry is getting ready to economize a little on the matter f paying freight rates. Having tossed the railway rate issue over into the senate, the house waits with some anxiety for the inevitable explosion. Looking at the subject broadly, this country probably could get along just as well without the institution of mormonism. A so-called "rumor" from Paris says Count Boni will insist on having some of the Gould millions. That is not a rumor. It is a cinch. CASTOR I A Fq T..Iit8 and Children. Nothing helped me until I used Dean's Ointment. It cured me permanently." Hon John R. Garrett, Mayor, Girard, Ala. ''I am almost afraid to go to the table.'" says Dr. Wiley. The butter is painted; canned goods are kept for years and sold for the genuine article, and the foods we eat are frought with germ-life of a harmful nature. FOR 35 YEARS Suffered Severely With Eczema All Oyer Body Examined 15 Times by Government Board Who Said There Was No Cure An Old Soldier Completely Cured. A THOUSAND THANKS TO CUTICURA REMEDIES "For over thirty-five years I was a severe sufferer from eczema. The eruption was not confined to any one place. It was all over my body, limbs, and even on my head. I am sixty years old and an old soldier, and have been examined by the Government Board over fifteen times, and they said there waa no cure for me. I have taken all kinds of medicine and have" spent large sums of money for doctors, without avail. A short time ago I decided to try the Cuticura Remedies, and after using two cakes of Cuticura Soap, two taxes of Cuticura Ointment, and two bottles of Cuticora Resolvent, two treatments in all, I am now wed and completely cured. A thousand thanks to Cuticura. I cannot speak too highly of the Cuticura Remedies. John T. BOSS MURPHY TO BE HEAD Elinor Details of the Machine to Be Perfected at a Big Dinner Party. New York, Feb. 19. Charles F. Murphy is to succeed David B. Hill as the leader of the state Democracy. Hill has again affirmed his absolute retirement. Senator Patrick H. McCarren acquiesces in the arrangement. Cord Meyer is to be ousted from the chairmanship if the state committee. The committee is to become allied with Tammany Hall, and Tammany is soinar to pay the freight. Lewis Nixon is to run for Governor, Bourke Corcoran is to go to the United States senate, and All of this comes from the trip of the Tammany committee of fifty, or ninety, if th actual number is to be officially considered, to Albany yesterday. Whether this was decided as the little tailors of Tooley street were wont to settle the affairs of the universe or was brought about after a series of conferences between Murphy, Cockran, McCarren, and Nixon with the up-staters cannot be learned. But, according to the braves who were at the hall today, it is practically settled, and about all that remains to be done is for Nixon to run for governor and Cockran to be sworn in at Washington. The matter of allying the state committee with Tammany is to be settled in a night that is, the minor details are to be perfected at a dinner which Murphy is to give to the up-staters at the Democratic club early next month. A lock canal may serve the purpose at Panama, but tie crying need in Washington is a lock-jaw canal. The Supreme Court of Illinois has refused to try to close the saloons of Chicasro on Sunday. The closed saloon in Chicago is as easy of access as the closed gambling house in New York.
