ISAAC SULLIVAN SUFFERS FROM ODD EYE DISEASE.

Result of Being Hit hy Polo Ball, He Sees only Half of an Object He Looks at. Isaac Sullivan of Centerville, is the victim of a freak injury -which causes him great pain and much trouble. A few months ago, while he was playing a game of polo he was hit hy a sharply driven ball in theeye. The optic was badly discolored, but he gave no great thought to the injury. A few weeks ago the eye began to pain Sullivan, and now he is only able to see half of any object he looks at, the uninjured eye being also affected. Sullivan placed himself under the care of Dr. Grosvenor of this city, who hopes to restore bis patient to his normal eyesight.

They Saw When He Voted for Taggart 's Candidate for State Chairman Resignation Demanded.

From a mortal enemy to Tom Taggart, Sylvester Meek of Connersville, has switched to a Taggart henchman and the Democrats of this county and of the Sixth District in general who supported him are up in revolt, especially the Democrats of Rush county, who are holding indignation meetings and drawing up resolutions by the wholesale, denouncing Meek as a trator. These resolutions are being spread all over the district and a 'split in the party is promised. The "Rush county insurgents are receiving the active support of the Wayne County anti-Taggartites. "Boss" Taggart is cracking his whip, but instead of restoring harmony to the ranks he is only fanning the flames of revolt and sensational results are' looked for. The charge brought against Meek was his vote for "W. II. O'Brien, the Taggart candidate for state chairman. O'Brien was elected. , The Wayne county Democrats say that Meek, to obtain his election as

claim; that Meek; was;a Taggart Tnan all the' time, and that they were tricked into supporting him.- The Taggart leaders at Indianapolis are laughing up their sleeves at the re-" suit of their little ruse, and Meek is pompously announcing that he will ignore the uprising in Rush county, j aided and abetted by the Wayne County Democrats, and that he has

no intention of resigning the district chairmanship. " One of the resolutions drawn up by the Rush county Democrats, which has been received by a local leader of that party, winds up as follows: "Meek was deliberately, premedi-

tatedly and corruptly unfaithful to his political and moral obligations and the sacred trust confided in him and that we, as his supporters in the district convention, in opposition to the corrupt and high handed methods that have always characterized the Taggart machine, and especially in the last state and national campaigns, denounce his conduct as wholly unworthy and dishonest, and believe that if he is actuated by any sense of delicacy, honor or jxditical integrity, he will resign his trust, to the end tliat it may be handed over to some one in whom the people of the Sixth District may place the last bit of confidence."
