Road Makes Arrangements to Clean Up Outstanding Obligations. New York, Jan. 10. It U understood that the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Kailroad company has made ar inurements to sell a considerable hlock of bonds to Speyer & Co., for 1 lie purpose of cleaning up the car trust and other outstanding obligations and for various refunding operrtious. It is reported that when these operations have accomplished the company will show 8 to 10 per cent earned on its preferred stock. This is said to be one of the underJyiiiy reasons for the prsent strength of Missouri, Kansas Sc Texas, although there is still a lurking suspicion tliat some hi rye railroad is trying to acquire the property. Abbatoir Company Annual Election. The annual election of officers of the Hichmoiul Abbatoir Company was held Tuesday evening, and the following were the officers chosen: President Jacob Lichtenfels. Vice-President Joseph Geier. Secretary W. S. Kwry. Treasurer James Beeson. General Manager F. C. Jiulgenson. Board of Directors Jacob Lichtenfels, F. C. Jergensen, Joseph Geier, Anton Stolie, W. 8. Much Profit Selling With Easy Rallies On Declines Showing Recuperative Power of Stocks. New York, January 10. Yesterday s stock market opened higher with but few exceptions. Opening gains, however, were soon -wiped out, owing to heavy profit taking sales. The selling was not severe though as sales dropped off when the level reached Monday's closing. A good deal of recuperative jxnyer was displayed by the ease with which stocks rallied upon each relaxation of selling. The opinion has been advanced that the pools, loaded to the guards with" stocks, are taking advantage of the favorable speculative opinion engendered during the last few days by the more reasonable call money rate, to unload upon the public.
