Our sole knowledge of the peo-
trfa on other worlds and how far
the Moole there differ from our
inhabitants, can only be guessed by Comparison with animal nature on this mail sphere of ours. More important to 01 ib i knowledge of ourselves. KOW ThyseW was an old Greek thought. How to take care of one's own body is not so simple as some think: the human mechanism is a wonderful thing and requires watching. One man who had done more to teach Che American people how to care for their bodies than almost any other, is Dr. R. V. Pierce, of Buffalo, N. Y., the Author of the "Common Sense Medical Adviser." He ays : It is not the quantity of the food aten which produces strength and health (for some people can keep strong: on a very meagTe diet), but it is how much food is absorbed and assimilated by tbe blood and carried to nourish every org-an of the body. It Is, therefore, vitally necessary fcr the body that the 6toniach be in a healthy State. If disease of the 6totnacli, or what is called "stomach trouble, " prevents proper autrition then the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys do not get proper food they are not fed on rich red blood, and in conse-

of the nerves not being fed on pure blood, they become starved, and we receive a warning in the pain we call neuralgia. Rheumatism, too, is A blood disease. After ? rears of practice and study Dr. Pierce bund that an Alterative ljxtract, which he named "Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery," made from the extracts of several plajts, invariably produced a tonic effect Upon the system. It helped the process of absorption of the healthy elements in the food and increased the red corpuscles ol the blood, as well as eliminated the poisons from the system. Business is business. No time for heedaches. Constipation causes them. Doctor tierce's Pleasant Pellets cure them by cuag the cause. Laxative and mild.

ammsement:
At the Gennett. Another large crowd was present tt the Cicnnett theatre last evening lo witness the splendid vaudeville 'till. Yesterday afternoon which was bargain afternoon for the Avornen and children, the house was almost tilled v spectators, all anxious to witness 'he bill that is being so generally alked about in this eity. Nothing but .voids of praise have been said of the 'ill that occupies the boards this week and without a doubt every eomnendatory statement is well deerved. The three Nudos in their acrobatic sketch, The Frame of Life, put on a
startling act and one that is equal to anything in the class. The singing of Miss Bonnie Caylord is even bet'er, if possible, than it Avas during her other appearances here. Humes and Lewis, the comedy acrobats, have m act that is original and they put it on in excellent style. Barington, the nan Avho drives away sorrow by his company of Avooden images, never pails to receive round after round of 'pplause, as he is one of the best -entriloquists in the country. Ernest Tend continues to entertain by his :llustrated sonrs and the work of rof. Cius Fredericks, pianist, is un"xcelled. The motion pictures are ery entertaining. Is Highly Praised.
"Black Crook, Jr.," Company is lie of those UMisienl, mirthful bur-Vsque-A'audeville amusements now so popular throughout the whole United States, and from all accounts, Man"er Murray of the New Phillips has "rule n l:i?v choice of entertainment ff his .patrons for Fiiday ;-jt. January 12. The tilte of the "mpanv 's taken from the opening tuedy-sl;et eh .-lid the closing bur'o'oue is snid to be equally as good s iis predecessor. January is the month in which the saAVdust very perceptibly leaks. A Avomau Avill gossip about her own faults, but a man Avou't admit that he has faults. Although two people in a quarrel may eaeh.be Avrong, A'ery seldom are they both right. It Is foolish to be silly, but sometimes It is so gratifying. If you can't, don't; but sometimes, most emphatically, if you can, don't.

great number of people.
It appears to be a popular belief, or at least a working theory, that might

Meee aumdl PJeplaew d1I HJnnclle Ssunm should be deeply interested in what he has said about soda crackers, because they are the one food with which all of them are familiar Uncle Sam has given out figures showing that soda crackers are richer in nutriment and body-building elements, properly proportioned, than any food made from flour. This is saying much for common soda crackers, and much more for Uneeda BlSCUlt, because they are soda crackers of the best quality. They are baked bettei more scientifically. They are packed better more cleanly. The damp, dust and odor proof package retains all tne goodness and nutriment of the wheat, all the freshness of the best baking, all the purity of the cleanest bakeries. Your Uncle Sam has shown what food he thinks best for his people. His people have shown that they think U need a Biscuit the best of that food, nearly 400,000,000 packages having already been consumed. (yteedte) (DflseySfi NATIONAL BISCUIT COMPANY
