Woman's sphere in this 20th century is ot limited any more tkan ts man's. She can occupy almost any business position or profession, and yet the popular view ol womanhood is that she best fits the position of wife and mother and head of the household. Every girl should know hei heart and also know that her womanly ystem is equal to the strain of marriage. If gir is nervous and irritable ten chances to one it is due to some trouble peculiar to womanhood. Copid has no place in a girl's heart if he is nervous and irritable, feels dragged down, worn out for no reason that she can think of. The weak back, dizzy spells and Mack circles about the eyes are only symptoms. Go to the source of the trt uble and correct the irregularity. Stop the drains on the womanly system and the other Srmptoms will disappear. This can be one easily and intelligently. So sure of it is the World's Dispensaty Medical Association, the proprietors of Dr. Pierce's Faorite Prescription, that they offer $500 reward for women who cannot be cured of lencorrhea, female weakness, prolapsus, or falling of the womb. All they ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure. AMUSEMENTS

New Phillips Vaudeville Bill. There appears to be no diminution in the interest that attaches to- the vaudeville bill that is being presented at tin New Phillips this week. All those who have seen the bill speak in the highest terms of it and this fact has led many others to see for themselves just what a treat Manager Murray,, is presenting at his house. Of course interest is chiefly centered in the liquid air demonstrations, but there is plenty of other amusement furnished. One of the acts about which but little has been said, but which is deserving of more than a passing notice, is that of Mile. Aline, who is reputed to be the world's greatest hoop roller. Without argument as to the justice of this claim it may be said in all truthfulness that she jjires a remarkable performance, especially when it is remembered that it is a role usually essayed my men. It has taken long and hard practice to make her master of the hoops so that she can juggle them in so surprising a manner. "Checkers." "Checkers" is coming to town. In all of the big cities in which this play has been seen, since its initial production, season before last, it has received practically the unanimous commendation of the press, and the immense audiences which have attended every performance are pretty satisfying proof that it has found equal favor with the public. Checkers" is a tale of love and luck, dramatized from Henry M. Blossom. Jr. 's book of the same name. Hans Robert, whom the maiiHans Robert as "Checkers." agement has fortunately secured, plays the title role this season and has scored a hit. The rest of the company number ing nearly 150 people, is the original organization so far as the chief members are concerned. Chief among his support are Katherine Mulkins, Lydia Dickson, Alice Martin, Myra Mae Reynolds, Ella Sothern, Charles Willanl, Dave Braham, Jr., Wallace Worsley, W. IT. Clark and Claude Coper. The sensational and much talked-of racetrack scene, representing the betting ring of Washington Park Club in Chicago on Derby Day, will be produced on the stage of the CJennett theatre, Friday evening, January 5th, with all the completeness which characterized it during its New York run and which prompted the late Hon. W. C. Whitney to say: "Checkers" is the finest racing play I have ever seen. Beawtns - sflto Kind You Have Always Bflight Signature of 4ri: GEIITERVILLE Centervill, Jan. 3. Aged 78 to Wed Chicago Widow, Aged 71. Worcester, Mass., Jan. 3. Martin Green, millionaire, world famous civil engineer, and brother 01 Andrew llaswell Green, has announced his engagement to Mis. Ella Sampson of Wareham, the widow of "Joseph Sampson, formerly of Denver ana Chicago. Mr. Green is 78 years old. Mrs. Sampson is 71. They are to live in a new home recently purchased by Mr. Green in this city. The engagement is the result of a friendship of forty years' standing, beginning when Mr. Green's first wife and Mr. Sampson were alive. Mrs. Green wrote few letters, and Mr. Green acted as correspondent for her. Since her death, about a year ago, that correspondence has been continued with Mrs. Sampson. Mr. Green is one of the best known men in this section. During his service as ensrineer he was connected with some of the most important undertakings in the country. He was the engineer who planned the widening of the Chicago river, and when this work was destroyed in the big fire Mr. Green was obliged to do it over again. STORYETTES There are people who will believe that the Mormons, in raising a monument to their prophet, Joseph Smith at Sharon, Vt., were inspired by the bad example of the Detroit man who erected a statue of the devil. We violate no confidence in saying that ex-Governor Odell remarked something that rhymes with his name when the balloting was over. . Here is one local example. We have many more like it. Ed Gausepohl, of 249 South Fourth street, employed at the eRichmond Casket Co., says: "For a long time I was troubled with weakness of the kidneys, the muscles of my back being so sore and lame that I could hardly get about. This was princi pally noticed in the mornings when first getting up. I saw Doan's Kid ney Pills advertised and got a box at A. G. Luken 's drug store and began using them. The relief I obtained from them was prompt and most sat isfactory." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents. Foster-Milburn Co., Buffalo, New York, sole agents for the United States.
