AMUSEMENTS
Bishop FLowIer. The Evening .Current, .Applet on, Wis. "Royal Oratory." The great pulpit orator of the Methodist church last night proved to an intent audience that he was fit to cast down the gauntlet and defend his reputation, a peer of the highest, on any platform. The lecture was dramatic to the last degree. There were periods when the audience listened with nerves tight strung by the speaker's thrilling intensity. The whole lecture was a delight in every sense. Those who listen ed with so much pleasure hardly realize how they were being instructed. Tonight at the Coliseum. vr -3f vr The Real Criterion. Samuel Taylor Colerdige coined the word "criterional." He was wrong. He should have written "criterial." But in either case the word means that which pertains to standards of excellence. Criteri)nal,, or "criteria!," it doesn't matter. The real criterion of moving picture exhibitions are undeniably those of the Lyman II. Howe Co., which comes to the Gennett Theatre on next Wednesday evening. Today they are as much the peers of all other similar exhibitions as they were the poineers ten years ago. It is precisely the kind of an entertainment that people want. It is clean, clear, wholesome enjoyment from beginning to end for the whole family all ages and tastes The Lyman II. Howe pictures pleases all, offend none. tf"The Katzen jammer Kids." Messrs. Blondell & Fennessy, proprietors and managers of the recordbreaking farce comedy creation entitled "The Katzen jammer Kids" have inaugurated a new idea in conducting their show this season, as follows: Each member of the company, both ladies and gentlemen, have been engaged with the distinct clause in their contract, that they are to make people laugh. Every one is a fun maker. The enterprising management, in order to get the best work out of the performers that they are capable of, hung up a purse of One Hundred Dollars to be paid in gold to the actress or actor receiving the greatest number of hearty laughs during the season. The stage manager of the company is to be the referee and he will be supposed to keep as-accurate an account as possible of the laughs ahd decide at the close of the season who wins the prize. This show will exhibit at the Gennett Theatre on Tuesday. Decernber 20.. The company includes such well known artists as Baker & Lynn, the premier delineators of Juvenile Comedy, Wally Clark, the popular German Comedian, Robinson Sisters, Acrobatic Marvels, Major Criquie, the tiniest comedian before the publicDay & Vestal, Novelty Act, William Baker, monologue comedian, Josie Ralson, Chic soubrette, George V. Baker, character comedian and many others equally well known to fame. The Eagles to Put on a Great Show Thursday and Friday Nights. The Eagles minstrels held two very successful rehearsals yesterday, one in the afternoon and the other at the Gennett theatre, and the first demonstrated that the east contains some excellent voices and that the "funny business" is in very capable hands and that the entire production Avill be rich in melody and taking in features. The grand parade. "My own United States," with John Moffitt as soloist will be a delightful inovation and will arouse the enthusiasm of the audience to a high pitch. The cast is as follows: Interlocuter T. O'Brien Comedians. Tambos Bones W. B. Moore Ed. Miller Roy Peck Dave Miller George Parcy Wm. Horn Frank Newman Jos. Mulroney Balladists. Vern Smith, Louis Vantius, Homer McCoy, Gug Magg. George Brucker, Ernest Renk, and John Moffitt. Chorus II. Seefloth, I. Tenny, L. Lane, J. Schatelle, C. Holtcamp, I. Geier, Chas Ball, C. Brannon. B. Ellenger, C. C. Holtcamp, Geo. Westenberg, L. Morell, and J. Johanning. The first song will be replete with beautiful ballads and "end songs," all of which will prove good some have been sung before, but the larger number will be new. The best includes "Back Back to Batun," "Blue Bell," "Make a Fuss Over Me," "Alexander," "Vacation," "Tail of the Whale," "Maybe," "Chicken Dinner Waitin' For Me," "Teasing," "My Own United States." "Olio." "Bunco Dice Game."
Life a n us. ir rS Hi. There are times when life seems a burden when you are tired, worn-out, have dull pains in the head and a continual feeling- of uneasiness. ,You have no appetite, and your digestion is poor; your sleep broken, and you get no rest. Little annoyances seem great mountains of trouble, and you are blue, melancholy and given over to gloomy forebodings. This means low vitality exhausted brain nerves. For this condition Dr. Miles' Restorative Nervine is a specific ; it is a food for the nerves. It builds up the nervous system, and restores lost energy. Try it to-day and see if your sleep is not sound and refreshing, and the morrow brighter and more hopeful. "I am glad to announce that I have rcovrred my health, as far as my advanced age will permit, as I am 82 years old. My case was very bad; my nerves were all shattered. I suffered much pain and coldness; was so weak and felt so sad and lonely and heart-broken. When I commenced taking Dr. Mfles Remedies I was completely prostrated. I have taken the Restorative Nervine. Heart Cure and Nerve and Liver Pills, and they cured me." MRS. E. C. BAWLBY, Waterloo, Ind. Dr. Miles' Nervine Is sold by your druggist, who will guarantee that the first bottle will benefit. If it fails, he will refund your money. Miles Medical Co., Elkhart, Ind
