The collapse of the bridge Wednesday over Martinsdale Creek near East Germantown will go down in the annals of the Indianapolis Division of the Panhandle as one of the most peculiar accidents that ever occurred on that division. The bridge was believed to be as safe as it possibly could be and it probably would not have gone down under ordinary circumstances. The delay in traffic caused by the collapse came at a
most critical time as the passenger
and freight traffic now is extraordinarily heavy. Heroic measures had
to be resorted to to lift the blockade.
The work of throwing a temporary
bridge across the creek was directed by General Superintendent Ralph
Peters of the P. R. R. lines west of
Pittsburg. His second in command
was Paul Jones, engineer of maintenance of way at Columbus, O. Super-
intenndent Woods of the Richmond
Division, Superintenndent Olhger of
the Indianapolis division, Robert Fer riday, the engineer of maintenance of
way of the Richmond Division and other high officials also assisted in the work which, kept them at the
scene of the accident all Wednesday night and until a late hour Thursday morning. There were bridge carpen
ters from Anderson, bridge crews
from Columbus, Ind., and Xenia.
Wrecking crews from Richmond, In
dianapolis and Columbus, O., and gangs of Italian laborers from all
over tlie surounumg country. i o
the spectators the scene reminded one of an army preparing to cross a
stream, and every thing was done with the machine like precision and
discipline of a regiment of regular
army engineers and sapers. When the work was completed it was a sad
and tired looking bunch of men that
rode into Richmond after their stren

weather.
Uric Acid the cause, is itself an
effect, and requires cause treated There's a certain satisfaction in knowing why we suffer. It doesn't ease the pain in itself, but it enables us to get at the cause. Uric acid causes Rheumatism! When you have those twinges that hurt so acutely, you can say truly: "That's Uric acid in my system." There's no uncertainty about that. The cure for Rheumatism is to remove the Uric acid. No external remedy of any kind can do this. You must get inside the body to drive out Uric acid. Athlophoros is a fighter. It chases all over the system after the Uric acid finds it dissolves it drives it out absolutely. It removes the cause of Rheumatism and stops the pain. Our book, "Rheumatism Its Caus
and Cure, -will show you how not to
create Urtc acid. Send four cents for it.
