ANDERSON FIVE Meets Richmond H. S. Friday Night in Basketball. Friday evening at the Garfield Gymnasium the Richmond High School basketball team will meet the Anderson High School team. The locals have played two games so far this season and lost both of them but the boys are practicing hard the few days remaining before the Ander son contest and they are confident that victory will smile 011 their efforts. Local followers of the game have failed to fathom why R. H. S. lost to Kokomo or why such a large score was run up against them by Earlham, considering the fine showing the same team made last season. It is safe to say that the results of these two contests was due to a slump and the boys will again hit their old time siride Friday night. Anderson has a good team and a fast game can be expected.

MANY SKATERS

Were Out Yesterday Enjoying the

Sport Skating Parties. Monday afternoon and evening and all day yesterday the "Whitewater river between the Main street and Doran bridges was alive with skaters. "Shinny-on-your-own-side" was as popular with the "small" boys and the "big" boys as a bargain sale counter and at least twenty games waxed fast and furious. It is a noticeable fact that skating among the older people is resuming it's popularity. Yesterday quite a number of old enthusiasts buckled on their Barney and Berry's and with their old time ease and gracefulness, glided down the ice, dodging shinncy games every ten feet witli the case of a half back in a broken field. Glen Miller Lake has not yet frozen deep enough for safe skating but if the present weather keeps up. in a few days it will be black with people. Evening skating parties, where a fellow takes his best girl and enjoys the n rony of teaching her ice locomotion, will be the correct thing this winter as it was last.

Financial Calamity Facing Germany. Berlin, Dec. 14. Discussion is

still rife here concerning the report i

of Finance Minister von Stengel issued a few days ago which shows a falling off in many of the country's revenues and the need of a $78,000,000 loan, if the company is to be saved from financial ruin. The report will n doubt be the cause of some very strong speeches in the Reichstag. The regrettable condition in (lermanv south west Africa, and
