It is our business to loan money in ny amount from $1 to $6000 on any kind of security, for any length of time. Having a large cap ltal of oar own money, we do not need to ask anyone as to wden o B how we shall loan it, but we can do so on any terms and for any length of time we desire. Eighteen years banking experience renders us capable of giving jou almost an immediate answer as to whether or not we can make you a loan. .. We seldom feel the necessity of any inquiry at all. but when it is made, it is invariably made as a bank. By securing a loan in this manner, you do not have the annoyance of your neighbors knowing that you are borrowing money, but can be sure of absolute secrecy in the matter. Our large capital enables us to loan at a much lower rate than that usually charged by loan companies, and yoa know it is to your interest to get a loan wherever you can get it the cheapest, the same as in buying anything. For instance, iT there is a sale on granulated sugar, where you can buy 21 lbs for a dollar instead of 18 lbs regular; there is where you buy your sugar. Why not be just as careful about saving money when you are in need of a temporary loan ? If we get our money out, the price wast bring the business, so if you get a loan from us, it will piove a great money saver to you. Call and let us explain our methods. If you cannot call, write or phone us, and our agent will call on you.

Fresh testimony in great quantity is constantly coming in, declaring Dr. King's New Discovery for Consumption, Coughs and Colds to be nn equaled. A recent expression from T. J. McFarland, Bentonville, Va, serves as example. He writes: "I had Bronchitis for three years and doctored all the time without being benefitted. Then I began taking Dr. King's New Discovery, and a few bottles wholly cured me." Equally effective in curing all lung and throat troubles, Consumption, Pneumonia and Grip. Guaranteed by A. G. G. B.U0TOOOD Secretary to Governor Durbin has a New Book. "The N ew Harmony Movement," by Col. George B. Lockwood, private secretary to Governor Durbin, is one of the books selected for the consideration of the teachers of the State by the Teachers' Reading Circle Board that concluded its meeting on Saturday. " Books were also selected for the collateral reading for all the grades of the schools. "The New Harmony Movement" is a revised edition of "The Harmony Communities," showing in greater detail the influence of the movements originating at New Harmony upon the educational 'and institutional development of Indiana and the Middle West. The chapter on ''The Educational' Experiment ' ' has been, amplified. The influence of Robert Dale Owen and William Maclure upon the common school, and the influence of New Harmony ideas on the educational world is portrayed.

British Compliment to Us. London, Dec. 12. The statement of the Admiralty of its new scheme for the distribution of the Vessels of the British navy was published today. The scheme contemplates the retirement" of about forty vessels which, in the judgment of the admiralty, are of little value as warships. It filso provides for the shifting about of really useful vessels so that there shall be adequate forces in the various parts of the globe where it is thought that the British Navy should be represented, but there is to be no excessive representation anywhre. A unique compliment is paid the United States by practically ignoring that country in the distribution of ships. It is probable that only two vessels will be stationed on the North American coast, one in the Atlantic and the other in the Pacific with headquarters at Canadian ports. There may not. be more than two vessels in the West Indian waters. It is said by one high in authority that the Government considers it awaste of money to keep warships in America under the existing pleasant relations between the two countries. flfwMlDvesso WK'ib ingnlDD,..g Treasry Department, Washington, December 1, 1904.
