Newcastle, Irtd., December 11. Unknown thieves seem intent upon stealing about everything owned by Frank Hosea, a prominent farmer, living south of town. Less than a week ago his home was entered in broad day light and a gold watch, a ring, $4 in money and a revolver were taken away, the intruders leaving utterly no clew as to their identity. At about 7 o'clock a noise was heard and, Mr. Hosea not being at home, his son Robert wen to the door and saw two men leading a horse from the barn. Seizing a shotgun he fired at the two men, who took to their heels. j Later, when Mr. Hosea had arriv

"That would be useless," argued the precocious lad. "Mama has the baby to mind and could not possibly come. ' ' "Then I'll let this polieeman take you home," ventured the sergeant. The little man insisted that this was
unnecessary, that he knew the way home well. The species represented,

"I've seen a good many of 'em in my time lost kids, boys and girls" said the sergeant, "but I never heard one with gab like that one." When the boy reached home he assured his anxious mama that the police were really stupid and that he had not been lost at all.
