Courage is a matter of the mood. '
Without rood red
blood a man has weak heart and ooor nerves.
Anemia means thin
ness of blood. It is
common in men and young' women and all those who work indoors.
who do not ret enough outdoor air and food oxypren in their lungs. There are too many white blood corpuscles in such cases, and there is often a peculiar sound in the heart, called a murmur, in cases of anemia. This heart murmur is caused by thinness of the blood passing: through the heart. The murmur of anemia disappears when the blood regains its natural consistency end richness. It is not heart disease. Sometimes people suffer intense pain over the heart, which is not heart disease but caused by the stomach. It is the occasion of much anxiety, alarm and suffering, for which its victim is dependent upon reflex disturbances from the stomach caused by indigestion. In the same way many bad coughs are dependent tjpon these reflex disturbances of what is called the pneumo Eistric nerve. To enrich the blood and crease the red blood corpuscles thereby feeding the nerves on rich red blood and doing away with nervous irritability, take Dr, Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery, which promotes digestion and assimilation of food so that the blood gets its proper supply of nourishment from the stomach. Get as near to nature's way as you can. A medicine made entirely of botanical extracts and which does not contain alcohol is the safest. Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery contains no alcohol or narcotics. Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets are the best liver pills.

POLO NOTES
"We are going to fight the Central League" said Manager Joe Fox of the Marion team Wednesday night after the game, "if a polo war is started it means the death of the game. I would like to fight and so would Mr. Henley but at the meeting Wednesday afternoon we decided not to. As things stand now the four clubs in the Western League have the cream of the polo players and if a war was started we would have everything to loose and nothing to gain. "The press lately has published
stories about Kokoma being tampered with by the Western League managers. I'll simply state that the only
way Kokomo can ever join our lea
gue is in a legitimate manner. It Barnes can come to us and say that he wants to join the Western League and assures us that he has the con
sent of the other Central League managers to do so then his application will be considered.
"I have been censured by the In
dianapolis press for tampering with Nick McGilvary and refusing to let Cohen have John WileyT I will give you the straight concerning both. I'll admit that before the joint meet
ing of the leagues last Sunday I went to McGilvary and I told him that the Western League was con
sidering putting me in Indianapolis with a polo club and I asked him to o T r -m . 1 1
join me. lie wanted to know wnat
terms I could offer him and I told
him a half interest in the club. Well after the meeting the Western League had another meeting at the Claypool Hotel and it was there decided not to enter Indianapolis. Why? Supposing I did establish a Western League club in that city. Neccesarily
it would have had to be a strong one and I would have ta draw on the other clubs for my team. I would have taken Bone of Richmond, McGilvary,
Farrell of Muncie, O'Hara and Bannon. Then I would have challenged
the Central League club for a series
of three games. But the result would
have been the end of polo in the
west and besides the other managers
would have been reluctant to give up their star players.
"Now about Wiley. Last year I
paid .$500 for McGilvary and gave Warner to Indianapolis. This season I was forced to give up Nick to Indianapolis because Cohen was roar
ing about having a weak team. I couldn't play Warner at Marion be
cause of some unpleasantness and when Lations at Lafayette offered to
trade Wiley Dawson for him and
also to give me first, claim on the
services of Gavitt I accepted the of
fer. John Wiley was sixth man on my club and too good a player to
play bench. Lafayette regretted the
trade and wanted Wiley back but I
told them that. I would first have to
see if any Western League club needed his services. I telephoned Cohen and he asked my price. I told him
$200 and he turned the offer down. Meanwhile Wiley asked me to release him to Lafayette because he could make better money there than at Ma
rion but I told him he would have to wait. Then the manager of the Lafayette club called me up and said that Cohen had offered them Cogge-
shall for $500 and wanted to know what kind of player he was. I told
them he was not in the same class
with Wiley Shortly afterwards Cohen called me up and offered to pay $200 for Wiley but I saw the Jew's game and told him he was not on the market at the same price Coggeshall was selling for and Cohen ended the deal by saying that the only
proposition he would consider would
be for me to get him Farrell of Muncie and I flatly declined to meddle with a player on any other club. I next asked Anderson if they wanted Wiley and was told that they did not
then Durbin told me to sell him to
Lafayette which I did.
"The day before the meeting
where Cohen withdrew from the
Western League he sold out to the Central League and he had the nerve
to come to this meeting as a Western
League franchise holder. After he quit, the Central League managers called us up and wanted to know what we would sell our franchise in Indianapolis for and offered not only to buy it but to continue in the Western League with a strong team.

In other words they tried ' to ' double cross' Cohen. 'We refused to sell. How long are a bunch of men going to work together on that basis f The Western League press is with us and if the public will only stand pat and be satisfied to see the same faces every other week but at the same time see the four best teams that were ever organized, we will be sat-icfied.

HERE'S WHAT'S WANTED.
A Citizen of Richmond Supplies the Information. Over half the complaints of mankind originate with the kidneys. A slight touch of backache at first, Twinges and shooting pains in the loins follow. They must be cheeked. They lead to graver complications. The sufferer seeks relief. Plasters are tried, and liniments for the back. So-called kidney cures which do not cure. The long-looked-for result seems unattainable. If you suffer, do you want relief? Follow the plan adopted by this Richmond citizen. Martin Bulach, tailor, 101 West Second street, says: "I was subject to aching pains through my loins and in my kidneys with a tendency of the muscles to tire quickly. The kidney secretions were frequent, scanty and annoying. I was advised to try Doan's Kidney Pills and got a box at A. G. Luken 's drug store. I took but a few doses when I felt their beneficial effects and in a short time my back felt all right. I can recommend Doan's Kidney Pills very highly to anyone suffering from their kidneys." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents. Foster-Milburn Co., Buffalo, N. Y., sole agents for the United States. Remember the name, Doan's and take no substitute.
