'The Holy City." The Holy City is correctly described in the theatre' program as a powerful dramatic story of old Jerusalem in the time of our Savior. It is a wry strong play and Gordon & Heunett's presentation at the Academy last evening was a creditable one. The company is good and sonic members played their parts in splendidly convincing style. Charles M. Greene as Caiaphas, the high priest ; Clyde I?. Callieotte as Marius, a voug Roman; Raymond Gilbert as John the Raptist and Pontius Pilate; Amelia Mayborn as. Ilorodias; Fred N. Allen as John, the beloved disciple; Edwin Hoyt as Judas, and Leon Robertson as Peter, deserve especial mention. The settings are tine and costumes historically acurate and pleasing. The final scene, the grand transformation of the holy sepulchre the resurrection and the flight of angels and the gates of the new Jerusalem is a beautiful one. The atmos
phere of the play is holy and impres-

Core Permanent My baby was about six weeks old when the top of her head became covered with thick scales, which would peel and come off, taking the hair with, it. It would soon form again and be as bad as before. I tried several things and then went to the doctor. He said it was Eczema, and prescribed an oint- , ment, which did not do any good. A friend spoke of Cuticura Soap. I tried it and read on the wrapper about Cuticura Ointment as a remedy for Eczema. Moadville, Pa., Oct. 20. At the Oennett Theatre Friday, November 2oth. -a- -K- -X" "Under Southern Skies' The mere announcement that "Un dor Southern Skies" is to be seen at the Oennett Theatre on "Wednesday evening, Nov. 2'Jrd, will no doubt be sufficient to draw a large audience to witness it. Since last seen here "Under Southern Skies" has been played over an extensive territory, everywhere meeting with jrreat success. Its beautiful story appeals to all classes of theatre goers and the Hallowe'en celebration delights everyone who sees it. An entirely new arrangement of songs and dances has been made for this season for the Hallowe'en party and no end of fun and enjoyment will be provided for the audience by this
feature of the play. An entirely new
and beautiful scenic production will also be seen and a very strong company has been ensraged to present the large number of parts. v.Blanche Walsh in "Resurrection." The engagement of Blanche Walsh next Monday veening when slJ will appear at the Gennett in "Resureetion" supported by an able company and with the massive scenic production as seen during its four months run at the Victoria Theatre,' New York is being regarded by local playgoers as 'the most interesting theatrical event of the season if not of many seasons. Here is a play with a great purpose, it appeals to emotions rarely touched by the conventional plays of the period which for the most part, cause no human sensation more profound than a gigsrle and a grin. "If" says one of the New York critics "we think of the themes that occupy our own theatres while this great . Russian tragedy is being performed, we may feel a sense of shame at the levity, the flippancy, cheapness, and vulgarity, of our own art which is rapidly becoming the dramatization of noise.' '
