Sunday iioannro, lrovmpsaTPEflDAY morning,: November i6, im.
Backed tip by over a third of a century of remarkable and uniform cures, a record uch as no other remedy for the diseases and weaknesses peculiar to women ever attained, the proprietors and makers of Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription now feel fully warranted in offering to pay $500 in legal money for any case of teucorrhea. Female Weakness, Prolapsus, or Falling of Womb, which they cannot cure. All they ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure. Very often a married woman or young girl , does not know who to turn to for advice in circumstances where she dislikes to talk with the family physician about deli, cate matters. At such times write to Dr. R. V. Pierce, chief consulting physician to the Invalids' Hotel and Surgical Institute, of Buffalo, N. Y., for free consultation and advice, and the same will be held as sacredly confidential. It is foolish to consult women friends or persons without medical training. Dr. Pierce's Favorite - Prescriotion con
tains no alcohol, is entirely vegetable and
the market it has sold more largely in the past third of a century than any other medicine for women. All other compounds intended for women only are made with alcohol, or alcohol is a large component this alcohol injures the nerves. The little red corpuscles of the blood are shrunken by alcohol. All such compounds, therefore, do harm. Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets invigorate ihe stomach, liver and bowels. Use them with the "Favorite Prescription " when a pill is required. One is a laxative, two, a mild cathartic.

Washington, D. C. Nov. 14. Between now and March 4, President
Roosevelt undoubtedly will recast his cabinet to a considerable extent
so that , he will enter upon his new administration with more or less new
blood in his cabinet. Rumors are like ly to appear from time to time which as a matter of course cannot be au
thenticated until after theehanges are actually made. All the members of the cabinet are expected to stay until March 4. All of them were appointed to serve until that time and have agreed to do no. It is custcmary for cabinet officers to tender their resignation at the close of an administration, whether the President who reappoints them is re-elected or not.
liiere is nothing to prevent a chief executive from asking the mem bers of his cabinet to serve with him for his new term, and this generally is done in particular cases before inauguration. Hay's Retention Necessary. When President Roosevelt asked

ter March 4 ha merely followed out a precedent which has been well established. The secietary of state is so completely at the head of any adininistra tion that he naturally is exnected to continue if it is convenient to do so. Lincoln reappointed Seward after four years' service as secretary of state, and Grant reappointed Hamilton Fish. In this administration tho question of its foreign policy has been
one -which most deeply concerned the,
prosperity of the people, and the secretary of state has had extraordinary burdens to Lear and momentous ouestions to solve. The Philippine nolicy, the open 'door in China, the Panama canal, the preservation of neutrality between Russia and Japan, the development of The Hague tribunal as a means of settling international disputes, and more particularly the delicate issues growing out of Russia's extraordinary, conduct on.the high seas are all still open questions which make the continuance of Secretary Hav in office es- ' s
peciallj- desirable. It was for this reason, and because I the retention of the sagacious secretary of state would be considered by the people as a guarantee of a continuance of a safe foreign policy that President Roosevelt first of all asked hi mto remain in the cabinet. Taft is to Remain. Other members of the present cabinet will be asked to sta3 from time
to time, but in these cases there is not the same pressing reason for their continuance in office. In most other departments the work is largely of an administrative character and calls for the. creation of little in the way of a governmental policy ex-
' cept so far as the war department is
concerned,
