The jack rabbit race at the Driving Park this afternoon promises to be not only novel but very interesting and exciting. The five rabbits that are to take part in the race arrived yesterday and were all day on exhibition in one of the show windows of the Big Store. These rabbits are shipped from western Kansas and are so wild and combative that the shippers send them in separate boxes to keep them from killing one another. It is the nature of these rabbits to protect themselves from their natural enemies, the cyotes, by first tiring them out and then running way from them. The man who has charge of the races tomorrow afternoon says that on several occa

sions he lias given exhibitions with these rabbits on baseball diamonds and the animals would first tire the dogs out by running them about the infield until their tormentors had their tongues on the ground then they would start like rifle shot for the 'Mall and uncut" never to be seen again. It is a fact that allthe rabbits used in these races make only one appearance before the public. No other power on earth has speed enough to recapture them. The crowd tomorrow will see five "local talent" dogs turned loose upon one rabbit and they will see this one

cotton tail wear out the five hounds without going past the grand stand and then take to the woods leaving the dogs to replenish their supply of breath.

Cold Comfort from Doctors. Doctors say neuralgia is not dangerous. This is poor consolation to a sufferer who feels as if his face were pierced with hot needles and torn with a thousand pairs of pincers. A word of advice to him; stay indoors and use Perry Davis' Painkiller. The blessed freedom from pain which follows t his treatment cannot be told. There is but one Painkiller, Perrv Davis.'
