STATE IS WON BY OVER 75,000 AND LEGISLATURE BY ABOUT SIXTY THOUSAND ESTIMATES OF GOODRICH Eleven Out of Thirteen Indiana Congressional Districts Elect Republicans. (Special to' the Palladium.) Indianapolis, Ind., November 9. The State 75,000 Republican. The legislature sixty Republican majority. Congressional Delegation eleven out of thriteen Republican. t .Counties 7S out of 1)2 Republican. The above is the estimate given out by State .Chairman (Joodrich at Republican State headquarters. Old Time Republican, counties that themselves and other counties that have been hopelessly Democratic arrayed themselves on the Repuublican side. There was no noisy jollification. The figures were too interesting to those concerned. After the pace which' the iirst counties set was seen to keep up, the interest centered in seeing not what the counties would do, but how much they would do. Gain of 17 Votes to Precinct. In. the end the returns showed an average net gain of 17 votes to the precinct. A singular feature of the reports was their. 'uniformity ''from counties oti'-ihe Michigan line to those on the banks of the Ohio. Old Montgomery was the first county heard from. She gave a good report of herself, increasing her Republican vote from 150 two years ago to 800 Republican majority this year, showing a gain of twelve votes to the precinct. The most striking gain Avas that of Wayne county, a Republican stronghold, which marked up a gain of 1,200 votes. Among the surprises was Allen county which came in with an estimated Republican majority of GOO, after having two years ago given 3,200 majority for Bryan. Rut Boone county, a nest of Populists, was not to be outdone, and changed her 35S Democratic majority to 500 Republican. Adams county, a hot bed of Democracy, in six precincts revealed a gain of 108 Republican votes. These given are the striking instances. There were many others . In the size of Republican -pluralities in the State, Wayne county heads the 1st. THE WINDY CITY landslides in Favor of Roosevelt 230 Republicans in Congress. (By Associated Press.) Chicago, November 0. Dispatches fo the Associated Press now show the Republicans have elected 230 Congressmen and the Democrats 133. The remaining IS districts will probably be represented by seven Republicans and 11 Democrats. The 1 Republican majority will run from ninety to one hundred. ' Chicago; Nov. 0. DIED YESTERDAY

Mrs. Elizabeth King, of Centerville Passed Away. (Special to the Palladium.) Cenierville, November 9. Mi. Elizabeth King, died this afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home. She was the wife of Jackson King. Mrs. King was seventy years of age. She leaves three sons, Edward King, Caleb King, C. U. King, and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Furnas, Mrs. W. Gates and Mrs. Louie Black, widow of Joseph Black. Mrs. King was one of the most prominent residents of this town and her loss is mourned by the whole community. The funeral will be at the Christian church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. , COL WILEY'S OX ROAST CELEBRATION IN FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP LAST OF WEEK THE FEAST TO BE SERVED In a Grove Near Bethel and the Time Will Be Friday or Saturday. Franklin toAvnship, Wayne county, is one of Indiana's . Republican strongholds. They are a very patriotic people, too. Previous to the election Colonel Wiley promised the people of the township that -if Roose velt was elected he would furnish an ox for one of the best old-fashioned roasts, and now that the country is safe for four years more, he will keep his word. Yesterday in the township 237 voles were cast for Roosevelt and 52 for Parker. The people of the township now propose to jollify, and they will do so in great style. The date for the big event has not been set, but it will probably be Friday or Saturday. The feast will be served in a grove near Bethel, and the entire Republican population of Franklin township will partici- j pate. Colonel Wiley was in the city today and extended invitations to county oflicers, newspaper men ami others to attend the celebration. RHODE ISLAND. Utter, Republican candidate for governor has a plurality of over 10,000, Roosevelt 10,000. The Republicans will elect a successor to Senator Aldrich. A BOMB Thrown in Court Breaks Windows in City Building. The city building in North Fifth street and those buildings in the immediate vicinity have the appearance of having been bombarded. Nearly all of the windows on the south side of the city building in the police department are broken out and a number of the windows of the back part of the buildings fronting in Main street have suffered the same way. Some one yesterday morning threw a dynamite cracker in the -ourt just south of the city building and the force of the explosion was- enough to blow out the windows. ' The police do not -know who thre the cracker, but it is not likely that'f anything will be done in regard to the matter. Official Canvass Today. The official canvass of the county vote will be made today. The count will begin at 10 o'clock in the circuit court room' at the court house and it is not expected to be completed until late in the afternoon. Up until a late hour yesterday afternoon the three precincts in Jackson township had not leeii sent in and only scattering reports on the. State ticket i vote have been received.;, ,

For congress in the Indiana second district John C. Cheney, . Republican, was elected. In the twelfth district Newton Gilbert, Republican, was elected. The Republican plurality in the State will be 75,000. The Republicans gain two congressmen in the second and twelfth districts. The state ticket is 5,000 behind the National ticket. Indianapolis, Nov. 9. Incomplete returns up to 5 a. ra. indicate the plurality in Indiana for Roosevelt seveuty-five thousand. MASSACHUSETTS Goes For Roosevelt and Elects Republican State Ticket. Boston, Nov. 9. -With one ward and one small precinct missing, the vote in Massachusetts was Roosevelt, '237,4GS; Parker, 168,417. Bates (Gov) 19ST9S; Douglas, 235,475. The Democratic candidate for governor concodes his defeat. The state is 75,000 for Roosevelt. GEORGIA. Atlanta, Nov. 9. The total vote cast in Georgia is about 90,000. The Democratic majority is 40,000. WINTER CARS Two Model Ones Are Put Into Service Here. The Street Car company yesterday put two new models of winter cars in use on the city lines. The cars are larger tlian any winter ears that have been used here and are quite elegant in appearance. The bodies were built by the Cincinnati Car company. The trucks were furnished here and the motors, with which t lie new cars are supplied, were taken from interurban cars. This gives them more power than the ordinary city car. The cars are equipped with double doors and both can be opened by a slight push on one of them. The cars will be used on the Main street line altogether. Mr. Lon Smyser, of this city, died at noon today at Monrovia, California, as the result of an accident received last Saturday. Mrs. Taylor had been living at Indianapolis, and - a short time ago left-,' for California with her husband and daughter to spend the winter with another daughter, Mrs. Will Wilson. The burial will occur in California. Mrs. --Taylor was held in high esteem by a large number of friends and relatives and her untimely taking1, off is greatly deplored. REP. The complete returns show Folk for governor has a plurality of over ten thousand but all Democratic municipal candidates except one are defeated. Roosevelt's plurality is 2,0SG. Indications are that the legislature will be Republican by two or three on the point ballot and will elect a successor to Senator Cockrell. POLOPLAT Will Be Opened at the Coliseum on Next Monday. Next Monday morning the plat at the Coliseum will be opened for those who wish to get reserved seats for the season. Those who had season seats last year will be given first chance to get seats. The plat will be held open until Tuesday noon for the persons who held seats last year and after Tuesday noon it will be open to all. CALIFORNIA. San Francisco, Nov. 9. Roosevelt plurality is estimated at 75,000 and a solid Republican congressional delegation of eight. The legislature is -strongly Republican. HENLEY ATTENDED And Relieved the Polo Magnates of Their Anxiety. M. C. Henley, of the Richmond Athletic Association, attended the meeting of the directors of the Western Polo League yesterday at Anderson. Nothing important was done at the meeting. The rules of the league were gone over, but no important changes were made. The managers all expressed the opinion that the league would stand by the salary limit law. Reports from Anderson say that the league officials were considerably worried yesterday until Manager Henley put in an appearance. They thought perhaps that Richmond would fail to show up again. OHIO IS THERE WITH BOTH FEET ONLY ONE DEMOCRAT IN THE BUCKEYE CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION. STATE GIVES BIG PLURALITY Cincinnati Goes For Roosevelt by Over Thirty-Five Thousand. (By Associated Press.) Columbus, O., Nov. 9. The defeat of the Republican candidate for congress in the 13th district is indicated ..but, the Republicans, -claim his election. II. L. Smyser was probably elected in the 17th district. If these districts are Republican Garber in the fourth district will be the only Democratic congressman in the state. W. W. Campbell was elected in the fifth district. The vote on the Republican state ticket will be about 30,000 less than on Roosevelt. Republicans still claim all congressmen but Garber, while Democrats do not concede the election of Republicans in the fifth, thirteenth and seventh districts. Cleveland, O., Nov. 9. With half of the precincts in the country heard from the vote stands Roosevelt 25,840, Parker, 12,051. For congress in the Ohio 19lh disIrict, W. Aubrey Thomas, Republican is elected. Cincinnati, O., Nov. 9. Complete returns in Cincinnati give Roosevelf 53,01 S, Parker 18,814. IS ADMITTED At Democratic Headquarters That Roosevelt Has Carried West yirginia. Wheeling, W. Va., Nov. 9. It is admitted at the Democratic headquarters that Roosevelt has about 10,000 plurality in the State, but the Democratic governor and possibly the entire state ticket is elected. The Republicans have the legislature on joint ballot. The. Republicans elected three congressmen. The Democrats claim the second and fourth districts. . Parkersburg, W. Va.. Nov. 9. The Republican state committee at eight a. m. today still claim the Republican state ticket is elected but admit that they have insufficient returns and reports on hand to show that the Democratic state ticket is making heaw gains. Parkersburg, W. Va., Nov. 9. Woody a rd. Republican, was elected in the fourth district. MISSOURI IS CONCEDED. Kansas City, Mo.. Nov. 9. The Times (Independent) says-that it is becoming more than a possibility that the next Missouri legislature may be Republican and will elect a successor to Senator Cockrell. THE DAY AFTER THE ELECTION PEOPLE HAVE PARADED THE STREETS CONTINUOUSLY EVER SINGE THE ELECTION All Kinds of Contrivances Used ia the Parade Mayor Zimmerman the Leader. On Tuesday evening the loyal Republicans of Richmond started to celebrate the election of Roosevelt and Fairbanks and they are still celebrating this morning. Tuesday evening large fires were built ou all of the down-town"" corners and a dance, resembling an Indian war dance was held at all of the fires most of the night. At 5 o'clock yesterday morning some of the faithful ones were still yelling for Roosevelt and Fairbanks. 'As soon as the suu rose yesterday morning the jollification started again. All day yesterday parades would march through the main' streets. Last evening it rained, but this did not seem to cool tbe ardor of the crowds at all as a large parade which form-" ed at the court house marched for over two hours. The working forces of a number of the large factories had a parade over the down-town streets yesterday morning. In the parade two large wagons were used as hearses. One of them contained a coffin box on the side of which in large letters was painted the name of Parker and on the other box the j name; of Davis appeared. - Six col ored men with heads bared played tbe part of - pall bearers for each one of the distinguished "dead ones." A number of persons were wheeled about in wheel barrows yesterday, the result of election wagers. Mayor Zimmerman led the parade most of the day. MONTANA, Rutte, Montana, Nov. 9. Roosevelt has 7,200 plurality. Governor Toole, Democrat, was elected by 800. The legislature is Republican and1 elects a senator. KENTUCKY DEMOCRATIC. Louisville, Ky., Nov. 9. Returns from all but 333 precincts in the state give Parker's plurality' at 21.711. It is estimated the remaining precincts, being mostly in the mountain counties, will reduce this to 14,000. , NEW YORK SEES A National Republican Landslide and Democratic Cave In. New York, Nov. 9. The returns from Minnesota indicate the election of Johnson, Democrat, for governor while Roosevelt has a plurality of 100,000 in4 Wisconsin. While Roosevelt carried that state tbe legislature will be so, divided as to form a deadlock on the election of a senator Colorado counties give 10,000 for Roosevelt but the state ticket is in doubt. Democrats claim the election of a governor in Nebraska. : Indications are that the next house of representatives will be strongly Republican, 202 Republicans are reported as elected and 138 Democrats.
