At the Broadstreet Betting Ring in j

New York City. New York, November 7. Interest in the election betting continued lively up to late this afternoon, and thousands of dollars was left unplaced when business was suspended. It was the most exciting session that the Broad-street betting ring has yet witnessed. Fully $100,000 was wagered, mainly on the results in New York State. At the close President Roosevelt was still a five-to-1 favorite with odds pressing toward a longer lever. Judge Herrick became a stronger favorite and closed at 10 to G, as compared with 10 to 7 the previous day. In the contest between the Presidential 'candidate for the New York Electoral vote, on which fully $40,000 was watered today, the odds shifted .frequently from 2 to 1 favoring President Iioose velt to 3 to 2. At the latter odds the Republican funds were exhausted, and it l'ir:m to appear that the Parker mon-v would force shorter odds, and the h'-th'ng continued. There was ;aie bet reported of $12,000 to $2,000, representing' odds of G to 1 on President Roosevelt. This was not accepted as indicating the real condition of the betting market on general results. Most of the betters laid odds of 5 to 1 on the Repuhlicil candidate. It was apparent that at these quotations Parker money was scarce. It is estimated that about $15,000 was waiting for Parker betters at the close of the betting day, all of .which could have been had at 5 to 1.
